A bug in the ambermoon ...help

Hello,

I am stuck in this part of the game

.

Every time I try to enter the door..the screen goes black...music stops..the game pauses for a second...AND POOF QUITS right back to Workbench. I am unable to enter the door without crashing the game. Can anyone help me please?

One final question...do I need to explore that part of the game to complete the game? If so..then the game is impossible for me because I cannot enter that room.

why don't you play with the UK version ?

Where can I find the UK version? Do i need to restart my game with the UK version or I can resume from my last saved game?

You should use the preinstalled WHDLoad version on the file server, it has Meynaf's 1.07e bug fix patch applied.

It solved my problem! Thank you! I now have valdy in my party!! Aaaaaaaaaaah!! I can hardly wait to finish it and play amberstar!!

This is the only crash bug that I found in Ambermoon my first play all the way through in 1998. It is fully documented on the Thalion Website. You didn't need to expore that part of the tower to finish the game and you could get around the issue without patches using the jump spell or you can patch the file which was a text string typo.
