Amiga Explorer and Roadshow
Hi,
sicne the question might have been overlooked in my other thread. Anyone using AmigaExplorer with Roadshow? It does work for me with MiamiDX, but unfortunately not with Roadshow. I have a 030/50 ECS-System with 32MB FastRAM, 2 MB CHIP and an OS based on 3.1 with some libs (e.g. workbench.lib) from OS3.9. With Roadshow I cant get a transfer to work, I don't see the Amiga drives from the PC. I do get errors in the AExplorer log and that's it. All other things such as iBrowse (incl. Downloads) and FTP (had to trick the program) work great in Roadshow. Anyone having an idea? The roadshow forum is silent about this. Thanks, McT |

What do you mean by “had to trick the program”, in detail?

I use mFTP.
When starting the app there is a list of servers that I can connect to. If I click directly on the server, nothing happens. If I click 'edit' and then 'connect' it works. No issue with other TCP stacks here. Similar with AExplorer. Works with MiamiDX after releasing the correct port in the FW but not with Roadshow. |

I tested mine for you and I am using Windows 10 and can connect to my Amiga which is running Roadshow and Amiga Explorer. I think the first time you set up the IP address by right clicking the Amiga Explorer icon on the PC you need to blank out the password that is in there. But it does that with Genesis not just Roadshow.

Thank you so much for trying.
It still might be an issue with the drivers of the RapidRoad. I need to think about how to use another Eth-hardware to rule out other software issues. |

I have not tested timeouts with large files but I was at least able to dump the vampire's kick.rom and backup a couple of floppies. |

I may have to look in some combinations of system software.
Trying around with the new version of the MMUlib-package I succeeded yesterday to connect my PC and Amiga. I also fiddled around with the vbr. I also used presumably absurd numbers for stack and buffers. In the end I had a combination that worked. I'll try again on the weekend. What I was able to observe was that on the occasions when it worked, Poseidon would not display packet loss. In case Poseidon did show 'something weird happened to the packet ...' the AExplorer connection would fail. Speed was ok. |
