EAB Games League Rules And Info

1. Everyone votes on what game they would like to play the week before the competition is due to start - or when the league is underway, during the second week of each round. You can vote for five games, however they must be ordered 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. 1st place gets 5 pts, 2nd 4 pts, 3rd 3 pts, 4th 2 pts and 5th 1 pt. Anyone's votes who don't follow this won't count. Also, the same game can't be played twice - as soon as it's been played, it can't ever be voted for again. (For pinball games: if a table is used from a pinball game then that game can't be voted for again at all.) If there are two or more games tied on the same points, the game with the highest number of 1st place votes is chosen, failing that 2nd place votes, etc.

2. The chosen game is then played for three weeks. During the second week the next round's game is chosen (see above) so everyone knows what game to play next. Anyone can join the league at any time - you also don't commit to playing in every round, it's up to you when you play. You can post as many scores as you like during this period - however you MUST provide proof of some sort of your score (e.g. screenshots, camera/phone photos, save files etc) and you must also write your score in your post. Anyone who doesn't do this, or does it outside the round's time frame will have their posts ignored. Also, cheat codes/trainers/save states are not allowed while playing. Neither are continues should the game use them. If a game has difficulty options etc, then the options that everyone has to use will be stated at the start of the round. Everyone must use exactly the same settings to keep it fair.

3. At the end of the three weeks, I'll put the scores in order and have a scoring system as follows: 1st place gets 12pts, 2nd place 10pts, 3rd place 8pts, 4th place 7pts, 5th place 6pts, 6th place 5pts, 7th place 4pts, 8th place 3pts, 9th place 2pts and 10th place 1pt. These, of course, are carried throughout the season. Updated league tables will be posted after every round. If players are tied, the player with the highest number of 1st place finishes will be placed higher, if that doesn't separate them then the number of 2nd place finishes is used, etc.

A season lasts for ten rounds (just under seven months), and the player with the most points after this time wins the league.

The season starts at midnight UK time on Monday May 21, and finishes at 11:59pm UK time on Saturday December 15.

Any questions or comments, please post them in this thread.

Have fun!

Cool

One thing, even though I know it's very obvious... Just good to have it in the rules so that there is absolutely no confusion...

Maybe you should mention that cheats codes / trainers / save states are not allowed when playing. Same goes for games that have the option to continue

Cheers Damien, will amend my initial post (taking care not to say that cheats are allowed of course)

A couple of small rule changes:

- I've decided to increase the length of the season slightly. As it stands 9 rounds will be played, but I thought it would be better to round it up to 10, so the league will be played for an extra three weeks (up to December 14 if I've worked it out correctly).

- Once a game has been voted for, it can't be voted for again. At all. Ever. This is to stop the same games being voted for every season.

Hope no-one objects to these minor changes, they don't have much effect for the time being anyway

So this means that we can never play any of the other Slam Tilt tables in the competitions?

Yes. Otherwise I think people would get sick of it - I mean we could end up with playing every table from Slam Tilt, Pinball Dreams, Fantasies, and Illusions which would be tedious.

True, Well how about allowing people to vote for Slam Tilt next year but not for Ace of Space?
