Looking for an tracker program...

I had some tracker program on my amiga in the early nineties. I think it had a two letter name, it was "SF Tracker" or maybe "FX Tracker" or something like that. It was pretty basic, 4 channels and such. It came on one disk and there were some modules on the disk too, most memorable being a very nice mod version of Kim Wilde's Cambodia. There were other songs too and I still remember them, very nice material...

Anybody remember anything like this ? I'd like to get that disk. It was the first music creation program that I ever used and I really enjoyed it and the tunes that were on the disk (dunno if they were there originally or if somebody had put them there but maybe the program came with a few tunes to show it's potential ?).

Yeah, I remember this one. Trouble is, I can't recall the full name of this tracker program, but I remember being impressed with the Cambodia mod.

I thought it might have been called Fasttracker? Sure it was free with an Amiga magazine. Hmmm... got me in "hunt" mode now!

Think I've got it for you.

SoundFX:

These archives have the Cambodia mod inside, however there's a newer version of the standalone executable in this archive:

I love Exotica!

I found it complaining about the library too.

http://main.aminet.net/util/libs/IFFLIB22.lha

Extract iff.library from there and copy it to LIBS on your Workbench disk.

That's all I needed to do to get it to run.

How do I do that ? I'm using WinUAE, my amiga skills are a bit poor, I'm just used to playing games, not fiddling around with files. How do I get the iff.library into the emulated amiga ? Should I create a virtual harddrive or a disk image or sumtin ? Is there any PC software that allows me to put that file inside my WB disk ?

Assuming you have WinRAR...(if not, download it - its free for so many days)

Click on the link d0pefish provided above and select Open.

Trace the file iff.library and right-click on it.
Select "Extract to the Specified Folder"

This Destination path needs to be:
C:\Program Files\Cloanto\Amiga Forever\Emulation\shared\dir\System\Libs
(maybe slightly different depending on where your folders are)

Click OK.

iff.library is now in Libs folder

hope this helps.

Pleased you got that sorted eternalcrusader!

As you do not have Amiga Forever, I was in the process of suggesting ADF explorer but got distracted by my kids. Grrrr.

Pleased to hear you got it working!

You're welcome - I'm also a fan of oldschool Amiga trackers and MOD music; I do some chiptunes from time to time. I had a feeling your tracker would be amongst Exotica's nice collection!

Happy to help!
