Yes it's not so purple like but not clear blue either.

On my TV it's slightly cyan.

@guest.r : oh my, I have a very last request, would it be possible to make a combined shader with :

xbrz (whatever is the best one, I tried 6xbrz on my setup), scaled x3 + crt-hyllian

Thanks again so much :-)

I'm really happy with those shaders. Apart from the 50 Hz issue which seems kinda unsolvable (unless you set your screen at a multiple of 50 Hz), it makes the Amiga games look better than ever AND not destroy my eyes !

Oh, by the way, some people here mentioned dosbox. Does any of you use a Linux build of dosbox with shaders support ?

Gosh, been experimenting with real Amiga, FPGA Amiga, Pi's and emulation for such a long time, now I think there is no way back for me (especially since my eyes are now so much damaged by screens I need a pleasant picture and non flickering screen). Pfew.

Out of curiosity, are you looking for a 1084 monitor feel? Unfortunately I don't own that any longer, so having the comparison you're working on is a really good thing. Thanks!
Please post your complete config when you think you got it close. :-)

My TV is a Sony Trinitron, RGB scart to A500 plus.

Np. true xBRZ 3x is used, tested it in Retroarch and the output is like with FS-UAE.

More tweaking. With these settings i am almost spot on now, 90% except the scanlines that are thinner in reality, maybe with a higher resolution they are better. Colors saturation/brightness, blur are almost identical now.

#define SATURATION 1.3
#define VSCANLINES 0.05
#define InputGamma 2.5
#define OutputGamma 2.0
#define SHARPNESS 1.0 // 1.0 or 2.0
#define SHARPNESS2 1.8 // 1.0 to 3.0
#define COLOR_BOOST 1.5
#define RED_BOOST 1.5
#define GREEN_BOOST 1.4
#define BLUE_BOOST 1.3
#define SCANLINES_STRENGTH 0.66
#define BEAM_MIN_WIDTH 0.76
#define BEAM_MAX_WIDTH 1.0
#define CRT_ANTI_RINGING 0.8
#define HUE 8.0 // from -180 to 180

Nice. Will test it later. The scanlines looks perfectly fine in 1080p. 768p is indeed not good enough.

Thanks. So this is a Sony Trinitron emulation, interesting. I assume you ignored curvature because your Sony Trinitron is a flat crt. Now all we need is a comparison setting file for a 1084 or Philips CM8833. :-)

I really doubt the 1084 can do a better picture than a Sony Trinitron. The colors on that tv are stunning with RGB.

The best shader i have seen is CRT-Royale-kurozumi, here is a comparison with CRT-Hyllian. I don't know if this can be ported too (?).

CRT Hyllian - Snes9x

CRT-Royale-kurozumi on Retroarch

CRT-reverse-aa is a good one too. I like the crisp image.

Shaders for FS-UAE that guest.r ported also work for Snes9x (OpenGL crt-scanline.shader)

This is the best i've come across (for my eyes at least)
CRT.D3D.br.fx for Dosbox from wayback in 2013 - with curvature and curved scanlines when using hardware.

Windowed (1152x864):

Fullscreen (1680x1050):

Does anyone know if this one has been converted?

It exists on Winuae but the image looks like S-video or something. In reality RGB is razor sharp. Look at the tweaks I did in Crt-hyllian-low. It's pretty close to real RGB.

Yeah i've been messing around with WinUAE, I even added this old shader. unfortunately there is a pink tint to the image and the scanlines are a mess.

I'll take a look at yours too.

Hi ! A couple more questions regarding shaders + fs-uae :-)

1) as one has to use lowres mode for the pixel shaders, is it possible to have the WB in Picasso 96 mode, with the shaders not being applied to the latter ?

2) what is the optimal Amiga resolution for the pixel shaders to be applied properly ? (using xbr & crt-hyllian here) ? 692x540 ? 724x566 ?

Thanks you again :-)

If you manage to get Picasso 96 working with the lowres mode, then this should make them skip to apply the effect with higher resolutions.

This uniform variable should be declared along other uniforms:

Code:
	uniform vec2 rubyInputSize;
At the end of the fragment shader code this line should be added:

Code:
	if (rubyInputSize.x > 640.0 && rubyInputSize.y > 480.0) gl_FragColor = texture2D(rubyTexture, gl_TexCoord[0].xy);
The numbers could be adjusted if necessary.

This setting is best on AUTO with FS-UAE (like Zoom = Auto). It's really smart and shows only what is relevant, skipping black bars on bottom etc.

Hope this helps.

A new version of my CRT-Pvm-Lite shader is out. It has more options and looks somewhat nicer.
Prefered settings are:

Code:
keep_aspect = 1.0
line_doubling = 0
low_resolution = 1
shader = crt-pvm-lite
Happyhats!

Edit: Adding a bit different shader, just an idea i had.
