It was a joint Assembly Line/The Bitmap Brothers development but the HOL field only supports one developer.

Bitmap Brothers designed it, Assembly Line actually programmed it.

Slightly off topic but I always remember thinking Xenon wasn't that well programmed

It's a damn fine game but technically it always looked like they wrote one version to suit ST/Amiga - scrolling definitely wasn't up to usual Amiga standards e.g. Hybris.

Or is it simply the case that it's an ST port?

They were too adventuruous with the three layers of scrolling, plus it was a Bitmap Brothers trademark/tradeoff. They would rather a game ran at a constant 25frames than run at 50 frames and keep dropping the frame rate when there was too much on screen.

Hijacking this thread a little on the mention of Hybris, has everyone else heard the remix of Paul Van Der Valk's excellent "Imploder Theme" by reed?

http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=7789

I have to say that when I first heard it nostalgia coursed through my veins!
