Smile Real 3D 3.5 and Deluxe Paint 5 manuals

Hi guys,

does anyone know how to get these manuals ?? I would at least need tham scanned as PDF's... I would gladly do the scanning if it does not exist but I would need still need the books lent to me to do so...

I know some info can be found in the Aminet LSD but text files are not really user friendly and do not contain pics...

Thanks a lot!

Hi Pichamelu,

I have a Deluxe Paint 5 manual.

I could lend it to you if you mean what you say about scanning it.

But it's not a small job. It's 350 pages, 165x220mm, ring-bound.

If you want to borrow it you may, on condition that you return it to me and upload the pdf manual for EAB users to share.

Let me know whether that is acceptable to you.

Hi Prowler!

This is excellent news!!

I would gladly do the scaning part, and I find really cool your offer to lend me your book!!

Yet, the only issue is that I live in the south of France... I would have also, I guess, to bear the postage costs (which is absolutely normal) and the risk that the parcel may be lost between UK and France...

What do you think about that?

Thanks!

C'mon from UK to France? You know surely a thing called 'tracking'.

I sent very sensitive parcels to Angola every month for 4 years and I've never had a issue!

Trust the mailman please...

Sure, sure...

But imagine what a loss it would be IF the parcel was lost. It's up to Prowler to decide if he trusts the mailman!

Now let's also consider the price of a tracking parcel from UK to France. I am very much willing to do the scanning, but I must check delivery prices. I am not that rich and if it means 30 euros of postage...

I am going to enquire about that. But I do not know the weight of the book, which is not that light I presume...

C'mon guys, wouldn't you all EAB members donate for such hard work ?

Hi Pichamelu,

I will gladly send the manual to you in France if you promise to send it back to me when you've finished with it and upload the scanned manual for EAB members to share. I am not asking you to refund the cost of my sending it to you, but if you wish to scan the manual you will have to bear the cost of returning it to me.

Prowler, are the pages A4 size or smaller, and can they come out of the ring-binder?
If so, I can scan that. Postage will be cheaper to London.

Hi X-ray,

Pages are 165mm x 220mm, but they would not easily come out of the ring binding, I'm afraid.

No problem, mate. I don't mind sending it to France, if Pichamelu's scanner is up to the job.

Hi guys,

sorry for not having replied before.

It seems that I may be able to get a copy of the real3D manual directly in France which is simplier.

Yet, I will still have to do the scanning job and will do so when I have time. when it's done, I will share it with the EAB community.

If I cannot get the manual, I may contact Prowler. I'll keep you informed!

Hi Pichamelu,

Surely you mean the Deluxe Paint V manual?

Sure, sorry for the mistake. In fact, I may be able to get both Dpaint 5 and Real3D "big" manual... I asked to get them in English, so that the scanning is obviously more interesting for EAB members than in French...

Hi Pichamelu,

Thanks for the update. Great work. Well done!

Good luck with that. There's no rush. Take your time. The end result is what counts.

Looking forward to see what you can upload for us.

prowler

PS. If you can't get the DPaint 5 manual, you know where to come. I'll weigh it for you and attach the result here.

Edit: Weight is 550g.
