Recommended watch. He goes into detail about how he codes it on his Mac and how he uses vim instead of the vscode development/emulation stack. How he streamlines his graphics development. How he did the music and so on.

Amiga never stopped being cool!

Dan Salvato is only 31 years old!

I was 30 years old when I got my first Amiga. Now I'm 66 and still using my Amiga every day. Dan Salvato will be 66 in 2059 - and the Amiga will still be cool!

Classic never goes out of style.

Basically you've got a few requirements. DDLC is written for Ren'Py, so you would have to port Ren'Py, which requires Python 3.9. Ren'Py handles i/o via PyGame, which hooks into SDL.

Get Python, SDL, and PyGame all working at the required minimum versions and you can get Ren'Py and thus DDLC working.
