It isn't compatible with classic 68k software. You have to use an Amiga emulator then.

No, it's worse than that. There's no M68k processor onboard, either.

What percentage of the old A500/A1200 games use the custom chips then?

It has an M68k emulator built in, which allows alot of old amiga apps to work.

How is that implemented, in firmware?

FOL is it possible to have this system built with a different case, maybe say if I chose one and sent it to amigakit? as I think the one that it comes in is hidious, I'm not a fan of shiny things. (although others would disagree)
Didnt this system used to also ship in a cube casing?

The SAM Flex is a next generation AmigaOS 4 system which runs the new Workbench 4.1. It does not run on any other OS including Linux. It has been written natively to run on the SAM Flex

You can run a lot of 68k apps and some system friendly games through the integrated Petunia system that automatically runs in the background of AmigaOS 4. The hardware unfriendly games can be run on E-UAE for the AmigaOS 4.

There is a post on Amiga.org right now where a user has uploaded YouTube videos of ImageFX (68K) , TVPaint (68K) and Lightwave (68K) running on a SAM Flex:

Indeed, the cube cases are no longer sold.

We have a new case that replaces the cube.

New case

The software on Aminet with an AmigaOS4 icon next to it will be compatible as well as the dedicated software listed on OS4Depot.net

I think you would probaly sell more if they were in cube cases, much more
appealing

So theres no other case option apart from that one?

Does the Samflex need any type of virus protection software when using online?

No it does not - it is security through obscurity ;-) Most spyware and virii are written for x86 systems such as Windows PC.

The latest web browser is called OWB which we will pre-load onto the hard disk - it support CSS.

Firefox for AmigaOS 4 is in development at the moment:
