Copy protection?
Is there a list of amigagames available, which games have protection?
(physical, manual or no protection). Description: I have found "Fetiche Maya, Le" english version(ADF), is not in TOSEC yet, available in Gamebase Amiga. All french versions in TOSEC have [cr group] flags. But in the english version i am not able to figure out, if this game was cracked(no intro) or there was no copy protection. Please help, for exact TOSEC naming. Maybe this is an inspiration for HOL, to create a new entry. |

Maya is an Amiga DOS game. You could check the file date stamps. Compare it with SPS#1742.
Edit: All files should dated with 08-Feb-87. You can also compare it with KillerGorilla's preinstalled English Version. Last edited by Retro-Nerd; 23 September 2008 at 13:36. |

That somebody made a normal ADF dump of the original disk. But this dump shouldn't work properly, because this game has some kind of protection. The WHDLoad readme mention a long track protection.
Edit: Or it is maybe a bugdet re-release without any kind of protection, who knows. |

If it is in TOSEC then a renamer somewhere should have checked it, but a lot of the earlier stuff managed to get through the net.
There is a good chance the game isn't cracked properly, and as such probably doesn't work! |

Gamebase Amiga says "cracked by Quartex". I have no clue how Belg could verify this, we have to wait for his answer.

You need to install Gamebase v1.2 and then the Gamebase Amiga database. Yep, game works fine here too.

OK, game is probably cracked by Quartex!
I have checked exe-file with hex-viewer. There you can find "Quartex" string. |

Yep, just forgot the hex viewer tools. Cracked by Quartex, and they kept the original date stamp for this file.

It would have been easier if you had mentioned Gamebase Amiga a bit earlier.

The silmarils protection called 'Starter' is a long track. The length of the track is tested, and passed in register D6 and then passed in D0.
Failing so means the game will crash right after the intro screen, or the intro itself. This protection is generic, with any value superior to or equal to 18B8. |

Full Contact/Team 17
I am a little bit confused.
Is there any copy protection on disk, please tell me. All Full Contact games in "Commodore Amiga - Games - [ADF] (TOSEC-v2006-10-19_CM)" have no [cr] flag. Now i have found a version with cr-intro, where you can read, this version was cracked. Maybe different versions were released, with and without copy protection. Any help would be nice. ......adding screenshot Last edited by mai; 09 September 2019 at 23:11. |
