Would you pay for a new Amiga game?
Hi guys,
I was reading the Thimbleweed Park Amiga Port thread, and I wonder if, nowadays, people would pay for a new Amiga game. After all, Unknown Realm a Commodore 64 game raised 125K$ on Kickstarter. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...d-commodore-64 My question is how much would you pay? - No thanks - 20$ - 40$ - 60$ - 100$ It is only a quick poll in order to understand how much people would be interested in it. |

5-10$ for digital download but it has to be high quality which is unlikely to happen

Depends on the game...
I don't have much interest in anything that is not a FPS or a Graphic Adventure So £10 - 25 depending on Quality, Length + Digital or Physical Copy |

I have paid for a lot of recent games that have been released commercially or at least in boxed collectors edition, so I WOULD pay for it. On the other hand, it really depends on the game and maybe even the genre. I would buy Powerglove, I wouldn't buy Reshoot.

Depends on the game, if it's some lazy ass shit, no, if it's some product that took love and time, yes.
I don't believe in the "support any game as long as it runs on an AMiga" mentality because I believe in quality control. Chances are better if a digital download is available, I would definitely pay $5 for a simpler game that I can download and play immediately rather than pay $40 for a simple game forced into some sort of physical release it doesn't really deserve. I have bought many C64 games digitally in recent years and that is cool. We need to start having digital-only as an option! |

Yes, I have also bought lot of C64 games for a few dollars/euros in the past years, I would gladly buy digital copies of Amiga games as well. Boxed ones? Well, maybe, but it depends on the game. PLUS if the games they are talking about being in production over at the Apollo forums get released for a couple of dollars, I would buy them right away (as soon as I have my Vampire).

Maybe it was a smokescreen for a second hidden poll checking how many ppl would actually answer it and how many would take the opportunity to go bitching about the poll itself

Too much trolling and bullying in this forum
In almost every thread haha There are 2 people voting they would pay 80$ for an Amiga game, now that is some serious trolling Why not pay 200 for a floppy in a box, 80 is a steal Last edited by nobody; 11 April 2017 at 00:19. |

Now I have made it a total of three votes for $80 and above.
$80 AUD is what a 25 quid Amiga game would cost when imported into Australian computer stores back in the early 90's. I paid it then and I would pay it now, especially now that I'm a grown man and am not relying on allowance from my parents and gifts from other family members but have my own money. I would add that it must be a game that I actually want to play and feel is worth the money. For example $15 AUD for boxed Tanks Furry seems like a reasonable shareware fee for a physical copy of what is ultimately a free game. $55 AUD for the DVD boxed Gold Edition of AlarCity seemed fair so I paid it also. But no way am I touching Solid Gold or Tales of Gorluth. You would have to pay me to play these or indeed any game made using BackBone! I'd rather pay for a game made in SEUCK. |

Solid gold is not backbone. I thought it was crap too, but when I played I found it was a nice game, it has that one more time factor.

I definitely have and will continue to pay for / support Amiga games and developers
...though I'm not really into boxed copies etc. so agree with Akira. There should always be an option for digital download. |

Solid Gold isn't backbone and a lot of time and work has been put in it, more than many of the other stuff available for sale out there.
To make things better, phx has shared the source of the game with the community to help others out in making proper Amiga games. The boxed version came as a request from people if I am not wrong, he wasn't really interested in that at first, and you can get the game for free if you want to, too. Clearly don't understand your comment here, putting it together with a backbone game. |

We need new games that can utilize a 68030 so we can take advantage of all our accelerators.
But i would pay up to $40 depending on the quality of the game. |
