Wanted: Video Toaster Manual
Can anyone please scan in the user manual for the Video Toaster 4000 and the Flyer and zone them for me?
Thanks Rich |

(Hopefully) these should be on the way to me soon from DiscreetFX - I'll be scanning them in once they arrive (should take less than a couple of weeks to scan them all in), after which time they'll be available for all on openvideotoaster.org .

That's cool! I was in awe of Newtek products from the start and still find the Toaster package impressive. Mmm, Lightwave...
As it may be of interest, there's at least a couple of Toaster features within episodes of Computer Chronicles that are held in Archive.org's vaults. It's good for Amiga items more generally too and if the site and search is working okay, 'Amiga' (without quotes!) should return a small batch of programmes. The C64 gets a look-in earlier on too, with a programme on music being quite interesting - even if it doesn't show the SID in the best light! From what I can remember and have seen more recently, that was generally the case in TV programmes - perhaps not helped by the better audio output most often being in games (which would rarely be shown) and that the sounds that so many of us loved then and now were often a joke to the presenters' ears (except for Fred Harris - he knew where it was at! ). Back to the Amiga briefly, it's interesting to note that Computer Chronicles reflects the Commodore marketing departments' (i.e. across the globe) inability to decide where the Amiga should be pushed, for business or the home - something that was reflected in UK Commodore and Amiga magazines of the Eighties and Nineties, too (in relation to both the US and UK marketing). Hmm, anyway! I'm really pleased that FX appears to have been able to help and will be looking forward to your site update. Do keep us posted! |
