Sources for WHDLoadinstalls?

Hello, I'm coming from the OO-world of coding, and have also done some C a loooong time ago. Recently i tried some old-skool coding on the m68k, found it interesting and read up on some Amigabooks on the topic as well. I have a basic grasp of machine coding, and now i would like to do some tries with a basic whdloadinstall. It will probaly take me a hundred years, and pain and misery

but anyway ,..

Are there any good slave-sources released for some WHDslaves that anyone can recommend me to analyse/have a look at and to learn some tricks from, and maybe try playing with on my own (maybe modify for some cracks etc).
Are there any "best practices" collected somewhere for the most common errors, copy protections and so on?
BTW do the WHDslave coders generally release their sources when writing installs?

there are slave examples supplied with the whdload dev package, also many install packages contain the sources: http://www.whdload.de/cgi-bin/search.cgi?words=.asm
