The best one i have seen is a short real low quality mpeg of this geezer in an office kicking th F**ck out of the office PC. 1st he gives the keyboard a good bashing then smacks the monitor and finally he totally looses it smacks the monitor with the keyboard then goes round his desk and kicks 7 bells out of it!

If you'd seen lotus 1,2,3 (i don't mean the Amiga Trilogy)
you would do the same

As for Old Yella i would look around for another old Amiga that maybe don't work and switch the innards around.

(ie some rich kids amiga that never got played on, just stuck in the dark attic after he got his jap import snes and copier)

Spray the case !

Metallic Silver, or Lumenous Green. Or even multicolour.

Would look pretty cool & original.
I was going to say that. Spray it Midnite Blue or Red.

The sort of stuff that appeals to LCD types. Typical.

I've seen this video too, I think it was filmed with the internal camera of the company the guy worked. Great stuff indeed

Hair and dust are no problem but if I ever encounter insects, parts of insects or insect eggs in a machine I buy, this will be the end of retrocomputing for me!!!
I have a friend who's into collecting retrogaming stuff. He said (I can't prove that) that he once bought an Atari 2600, and inside the 2600 there was a BIG, dead grasshopper. He was just amazed, how the hell a grasshopper THAT big could be there? Or even worse, he probably got inside the 2600 when he was still small, and the he GREW UP INSIDE the 2600!

And he also said he once got a Master System, and when he opened the case, it had COCAINE inside of it. He called back the guy and asked "What the fuck?", and the guy said "Shit! I forgot to clean it up! Sorry man!"

Let's face it. A500's are two-a-penny. Yellow case. Get another. If you spend 3 hours trying to clean it that's 3 hours overtime @ work wasted that would have easily got you a few A500's.
But unyellowed ones are very hard to find!
Most A500s you find are well used and sometimes even extremely battered. I have -never- seen a whitey A500 (except when they were brand new back in the days!)

That's bullshit man
Teh grasshopper would never SURVIVE inside the machine, so it can grow up in there. If it got in there during the production run, it could be possible (banana country A2600s! )

The cocaine bit is just bollocks

I wish that was the case down here. I can't be certain, but 2nd hand Amigas are becoming increasingly rare in Australia. I would love to buy a few more, just for the hell of it.

Strange, because only very few miggys I see around here are yellowed.
Must have something to do with the fact that Austria where I live is a rather cold country !

COULD be. I always thought my Amiga was much better in the cold winters of Stuttgart than in this shitty humid BA weather :P

I have toggled a lot of yellow from my old 500 with sgreaser ( a liquid to toggle grass - used for kitchen, pots, oven, etc. ).

To apply more pressure on the Amy try with a cotton fioc, with a little thing you can press a lot better than with a rag ( kg / cm^2 - if the area is little, you can press more ).
I have discovered it when i cleaned years ago the Amiga letters then were coloured with a red permanent ( indelebile ) marker.

I use similar product with all of my computers and it works GREAT. It won't take away yellowing, but it will clean them thoroughly!!

That red-painted A500 is a sacrilege
HEY, but here I Am, thinking of spraypainting a C64 :P At least I have two which are mint already, I got a battered one for refurbishment

This is a real sad fact, but it's true. You can't make it go away. It's the fucking nightmare of us computer collectors
Indeed, it's pretty hard to remove the yellowing, but it's possible.
I've just cleaned one of my A2000 keyboards. The yellowed one
After having tried many things I used the BHP paste (it's something like a soap with a little tiny sand). Now the keyboard is ALMOST like brand new. The cleaning took me something like 2 hours but ...

Well... it's available here in Poland, and it's probably also available in UK, but under different name... as BHP=Bezpieczenstwo i Higiena Pracy

You DON'T want to do this!!! This is almost teh same as grabbing sandpaper and polishing the yellowing away!

You will fuck up the case, its texture. I know I "cleaned" an Amiga mouse like that. It sucks.

Yellowing does NOT go without destroying the case

Well... as I said the sand is tiny, something like a dust...
I cleaned the yellowed keyboard and now it looks great, the 'texture' is not destroyed.
Ahh, and today I've cleanded the A2000 case's front panel that way... and didn't notice any damage.

If it is OK with you, go ahead. But I cannot withstand the thought of scratching the surface with that.
