This is why been a lazy grump not using the search engine on this site to see if something isn't already here? , I already posted about last week here : http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=77128

Maybe a Moderator can merge the topics together, no point in having two of the same now is there?

To be fair, the search function is a little awkward The topics here are so random that basically any search results in half the threads on the site.

Yes, but like any search engine it depends what keywords you use in the search, for example using "From bedrooms to billions" will probably bring up alot of threads due to the presence of the words "From" and "to", but if you just use "bedrooms billions" then it'll likely throw up the relevant threads (2 or 3 by my count).

I@ll be backing the Digital Download version, no need for physical DVD copies or blurays or anything like that, This is something of a specialty, with a new update from Zack over at the Viva Amiga stable is big news coming, I suspect it could be a launch date for the film and then a coup0le of months for this to come in , it will be the best of both worlds.

"What will you do with the Amiga computer" it's still valid today, but many just complain instead, not here but on others Amiga sites...

Just wanted to post this from their newsletter;

Quote:
We are very pleased to announce a new Kickstarter campaign for ‘From Bedrooms to Billions: The Amiga Years!’ here; https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...he-amiga-years

This is to produce a standalone and totally new film on the Commodore Amiga, how it was devised, created and released and then what it did for the games industry. You will notice Oliver Frey has created for us a truly stunning cover, we were so happy when it arrived, he really is one of the friendliest, most talented people we have ever had the fortune to meet and work with and we only hope we can do such a cover justice and make a great film should we get funded.

Nicola and I also feel we should add regarding the new campaign, at the moment we are asking for enough money to make the core 90 minute film. If many people want to see a film on the Amiga and stretch goals become likely then that could mean more content on the main disc, or even to the possibility of a second disc or extra download, basically if we promise to make any extra content then we would ensure this would apply to all backers. There would be no upgrades later on down the line! This is a basic 30 day campaign, if we end up deciding to add more content to the project then everyone benefits as we want to keep this nice and simple so we can concentrate on making the film and doing the best job possible! Handling even the admin on the multiple versions before was...challenging!
Here are the figures after just the first couple of days, its looking rosey folks. Cool Very Happy

297 backers
£10,743 pledged of £50,000 goal
Average per person: 36.17171717171717
28 days to go

(looks good for Team 17!! )

So who's backed this??

I've backed it. £25 for the Blu-ray version. I previously forked out £50 for the blu-ray special edition version of FBTB. I've also spent £150 backing Elite Dangerous and I'm still waiting for my boxed copy of that. I need to stay off Kick starter. Spent loads on it over the last couple of years. Nearly £500!

Thats great guys, I also threw £25 down on the table straight away.

Backers: I think it would be a great sentiment to these guys if you could leave a comment of support also on their kickstarter comment pages, perhaps with a note about EAB. I have certainly encouraged the Lemoners to support this.

I shall back it once my cred-card clears (it's currently maxed out!). The cover is an absolutely stunning image.

This seems strange to me. A doc about ALL the 8bit computers in the UK at the time with mentions of the 16bit era followed by another doc all about one 16bit computer, the Amiga?
Not complaining but why? It would make sense if they just covered all the 16bits more thoroughly in bedrooms to billions.

Haven't seen it but I hear they skimp over the Amiga and ST.
