WD33C93A-PL 00-08 Chip for an A2091

Anyone know about replacing the standard WD33C93 chip in an A2091 with the WD33C93A-PL 00-08 Chip? I read an article about random checksum errors when copying large files, random lockups when dealing with CD-Rom or Tape drives (all I have installed is a CD-Rom/DVD drive.) But was wondering what, if any, other effects replacing the chip might have.

I currently have ROM v6.6 installed, with ROM v7 on it's way (for OS 2.x support.) I also have a Guru ROM adapter & ROM on it's way as well (found it shortly after giving up and ordering the v7 ROM.) Will this effect either of those (primarily the Guru ROM?) I haven't started my OS install yet, so I haven't faced any of the issues mentioned, but I'd sort of like to finish updating & such before I close up the case.

EDIT: Well, just got a closer look at my current chip. It's the WD33C93A-PL 00-03 chip & not the WD33C93 chip I thought it had. So maybe an upgrade is less needed. Anyone have any details?

That is one of the older revisions. If you don't experience any problems, save your money. :-)
