Red face No Sound on CD32 or CDTV Emulation

I'm sorry for sounding dumb and it's probably something astoundingly obvious but at the moment i'm getting no CD sound from WinUAE.

I'm getting sound effects and music if it's not played from the CD Directly, but any track that plays off the CD/disk image - I get nothing. I'm sure this used to work ? I'm using version 1.4.3.

A nudge in the right direction would be most helpful.

Most likely reason is wrong host CD access mode, make sure SPTI is selected (misc-panel)

("I don't know and I don't care" if you use Windows ME or older )

I've tried the options under that option with the same results everytime, I use Daemon Tools would it have anything to do with that ?

PS.I'm using Windows XP

For me it only worked with "SPTI + SCSI SCAN", try that. It shouldn't have anything to do with Daemon Tools, as I use nothing else but that tool, and it works for me.

Check the device properties of SCSI device that is created by DT. Make sure 'Enable digital CD audio for this CD-ROM device." is checked.

Yeah this option is enabled.

I Have also checked using my other 'real' drives and I still get the same problem. If I try to read/play the disc's from another program eg:windows media player they work fine.

Check winuaelog.txt (enable in misc-panel)
Also make sure uaescsi.device emulation is disabled (do not listen to anyone who says you need uaescsi.device to emulate CD32)

Nothing interesting in the log (MCI_RESUME error is not dangerous)

Test with CD32 built-in audio CD player. (Insert regular audio cd and start CD32 emulation) Does time remaining-display still count time normally even if you don't hear anything?

Yeah the timer ticks down and the image of the CD spins with the lasers burning as though everythings ok, but I do not hear anything.

Also I have tried older versions of WinUAE and they are now producing the same results i.e. no CD Audio. So i'm going down the route it must be a problem with my system but WinUAE is the only application i'm currently experiencing problems with.

I have also had a slight result with Lotus Trilogy (Lotus 2) I can hear the music almost trying to get through (Like you get a couple of notes, then silence and a little again). This is the only game I have had any sort of success with.

My system is a 3.40Ghz Intel 4 with 2Gb RAM so it cannot be a system resource issue ?

Ok, this means CD commands are not failing because play status and position are requested from Windows, they are not emulated.

Check the log after trying to play multiple tracks with CD32 CD audio player.

Have you checked mixer settings?

Red face Resolved - Thanks Toni

Now sorted, it was an issue with my mixer settings.

Toni thanks for all your help and patience it's much appreciated and I apologise for wasting your time as I know you are a busy guy.

Again many thanks and hopefully next time I post on the forum it will be more...constructive. But you did point me in the right direction and sort it so hopefully it wasn't a complete waste of your time .
