Larry 5 german - disk 2+6 have crc-err

Hi!

Has anyone an errorfree disk 2+6 of L5_ger?
All (ger) versions I've tried had crc-errors at disk 2+6. The others are ok.



ps: yesterdays upload in the zone of L5 from Tosec has this errors, too.

I'll upload it once I'm home again this evening. I will check if they have the correct size first, pack them and put them in the zone

Another (last) question:
Have you Lost Patrol german perhaps?

Look on Planetemu. The '(M3)' should include german as far as I know (M3 means multilanguage with 3 languages). If not I'll have a look too later

Btw : HOL only has English for Lost Patrol

Edit : Just had a look. The three languages available should be : English, French and German. Maybe you can check and confirm this Enrique

You're right, but no one of the three M3-Versions on planet are OK.
After choosing the language, loading ends with an 'Software Failure'.

I put Disk 3 and 7 in the Zone, Resource 2+6 should work without crc errors now.

Lost Patrol, The (1991)(Ocean)(M3)[cr PDX] for example

works fine for me. (WinUAE 1.46, A500config)

You can fix this easily in Windows with the Total Commander+ADF plugin and new created standard disks.

I think I installed it with the normal installer, but maybe I copied these files over manually. All I know I have that game installed in german

It doesn't work by me. Same config - tried all three lang. => Softw. Fail.

Now L5 work's.
I changed both resource-files on the concerning disks and installed it onto my WB3.1 without errors.

But what is the password for beginning the game?

I have no clue, i miss the German manual. Try the WHDLoad version, there are all protection checks removed.

It's no copy protection. At the beginning you can define a password for playing L5. It's like a login.

The copy protection of the game meets you on the airport-terminal where you must bye the right ticket.

I've uploaded a preinstalled German DOS version (taken from KGs WHDLoad version) with no password in use. This should work now.

At the weekend I've solved it as follows:

I deleted the content of the file 'MEMORY.DRV' at the bootdisk. So the file has size 0 (=no PW). When you start a new game, just leave the PW field blank, click O.K. and enjoy L5

I had the same problem with the pw 2 years ago, and i found out to use the memory.drv of the english version (without pw), just after i ordered an original version of the game
