GameBase Amiga 2.0

It's hard for me to believe that I released GameBase Amiga 1.0 10 years ago today...

And so in celebration of this I've now released GameBase Amiga 2.0

eLowar was always in charge of the website and installer etc. So I've just dumped the main archive into the zone. It's set to use the latest version of WinUAE 3.2.2. and I wouldn't recommend using it with versions a lot older than this. It's also designed for GameBase 1.3 which you can get from http://www.bu22.com/. It will NOT work with any earlier versions of GameBase.

I've put the games/music/extras etc onto the eab fileserver (edit: now under /commodore_amiga/gamebase amiga 2/).

Any questions etc and I'll try and monitor this thread as much as possible.

Please note this has not been tested on anyone else's PC so it might not work at all! Please let me know how you get on!

Happy Christmas everyone.

edit: there's a gamebase 2.1 database update on there as well if anyone's interested.

I have put a screenshot update pack in the Zone if you want to use it.

Thank you

I'll have a look and see if there's anything I can use.

Just tried and it works fine so far. Where do you get the newer zipped WHDLoad games? Retroplay uses lha and Turans update packs don't use archives for each game, only folder.

Glad it's working

They are Retroplays WHD games, I've just used Winrar to convert them (Tools > Convert Archives). It may have broken a few but the vast majority should work..

JUST A REPORT.
Game: Sink or Swim is still a bad disk/crack!

I suppose, disk images are still the same as in v1.0, so a few bad disks still there!?

Thanks for the report

I did actually go through a lot of the old images and replaced them with working versions, but obviously a few will have slipped through so reports like these are great

Is there a good crack though? As all the ones I have are by Quartex.

I have zoned two non TOSEC versions, I don't know if they're 100%.
Taken from Yori Yoshizukis Unrenamed Files - Commodore I (2015-08-16) set.

Sink or Swim (1993)(Zeppelin)[cr QTX][t +5 SCX] [trained version with fix] seems interesting! Hopefully mai will have more information.

can this 'gamebase amiga 2.0' be used along with the old 'gamebase amiga' setup or should it be replaced + is whdload 18.2 already included?

Belgarath, I zoned a set of 100% working Deep Core disks.
Tested and completed in FS-UAE, WinUAE, WinUAEX and real A500.

Disk 1 = intro
Disk 2 = game (bootable)
Disk 3

You should probably replace it, although keep the sps and whdload dirs from the old one and yes I added the latest whdload to the setup.

Thanks Retroplay for the Deep Core disks, can you tell me what was wrong with the ones I included?

Some disk combinations crash with guru meditations in the later levels.
I know this combo works for sure.

Thank you, I've changed them to the new ones and replaced them on the ftp

edit: had no luck with the trained+fixed sink or swim though..well it works, but only with 512kchip, if I use more it doesn't get past the detected extra chip mem screen.

I can confirm, that both uploaded disks are fixed disks, done in june this year.
QTX release was bad, so we have done this fixed version by using the SPS release!
So i would say 100%!

Which is great news, thanks!

I still can't get the trained version to get past the detected extra chipmem screen though..and the other version doesn't even show that screen which seems a bit strange..
