imagine 3.0 help
hi there , trying to run this on 1200 with standard 2mb chip, but installed to hd , when you click just trys but then fails , do you have to have fast ram to work this program cant remember?

Almost certainly, I would say.
I can't imagine a 3D-modelling and rendering program running with just 2MB CHIP RAM. |

yes but im sure i ran it years ago on my 1200 but cant remember how , maybe it was a cover disc version that could work onit ,ill dl it and try thanks.

I used to run Imagine 2.0 on my A500 with 1M if I remember correctly, maybe that's the one you had back in the day? I never tried 3.0, but just like 4.0 and 5.0 needs 4M to start, I'm guessing 3.0 needs more memory as well.

the limitation is amount of available free memory (probably continuous block). I tried IM 3 and 4 and 5 in WinUAE with CHIPRAM only and both refused to start with just 2 MB CHIP. 4 MB CHIP, though, was ok.
On real Amiga, you really need FAST RAM (at least 4 MB) for any serious work, unless you work with IM 2.0. FPU is also very helpful. |
