File Systems & IDE interfaces

Whats is the best file system to use on my A1200? and how easy are they to install?

Also I was thinking of getting this

http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/...d8371ab237a4f8

Is this ok? can I use my dvd rw drive and hdd on it? What extras would i need? Or should I just get the one one with the gayle adapter and idefix software for £36?

Cheers

Stu

Yes you can use it with HD and such, becuase it says "Features one 2.5" port and two 3.5" IDE ports (primary and secondary). To use the secondary port, the IDEFIX software package should be installed."

Without the IDEFix software, you MUST have the DVD RW drive and the HD on the same cable. WITH IDEFix, however, you can have them on separate cables.

As for filesystem... SmartFileSystem. No other is maintained as well, and it's also prolly the fastest filesystem for the Amiga nowadays anyways

The timing tests say that PFS2 and PFS3 are faster than SFS.
