I don't like FPS games that much. That's the reason why i have not made longplays of your games.

However, I have just started practicing the game and, I can't find a way to get the present/gift in this room:

That was easy. I should figure out that by myself But I still having trouble getting all the gifts.

I got 174 gifts. Now I'm sure there are at least on more hidden section where I have not been. There is a place in the Lemmings area i can't reach. Can it be there?

Not only that. I played the game with standard A1200 settings/AGA 2 MB of RAM. So the sprites sometime flash and stuff. Not sure if it works better with A500/A600 configuration. The JoyKey program crash on both Kick 1.3 and 2.x. I guess Kick 3.0, no AGA and 68000 CPU is the best configuration.

Anyway, if you can tell me where the last section is and how to get there then i will make a new video playing with correct settings

I have uploaded a video of my progress to YouTube: xxx

Ps. Check 20:18 in the video. Snowman in the air? Bug or does this happen because I played the game using this configuration?

@hipoonios
I saw your video just now.
You missed 3 secret rooms.
Plum duff area: Check 10:15 & 12:12 (2 rooms)
Nitta's Blessed area: Check 30:35 (1 room)

In addition,
you didn't enter the latter half of Nitta's area.
Jump at 32:32 .
(You can see my promotion video uploaded on Dec 4.)

There are no problems in other areas.
You would be able to collect ALL 200 items !!

If you don't want to waste your time,
you can see the map via map editor.
Press F2 at the menu screen,then press Return.
up: 8 key
down: 2 key
left: 4 key
right: 6 key
return to the menu: Esc(2 times)

PS. There's nothing beyond that place in Lemmings area.
As you know, original Lemmings game has such "no points" places sometimes.
I like those maps, so I inspired them.

Thank you for telling me.
Joy2key2 also crashes on kick 2.x system? I didn't know that.
I should edit my readme file. (Sorry, A600 & A2000-3000 users !)

>sprites flash
This is IT I wanted to fix... Original Jet Set Billy game has the same problem.
Original coder said that it was "Single buffer".
It is something to do with those flashes, I guess...
(Sorry, I cannot fix this matter right now. Maybe I must learn SAS/c.)

>Snowman in the air?
That is not a bug. See [ Show youtube player ] of original ZX spectrum version.
Each snowman walks in the air.

Thank you

Ah, so the flashing sprites and the "walking in the air snowmens" are normal. In that case is it not needed to play the game from the beginning using another configuration, if it can't be fixed.

I only have a savestate from i left off. So I must continue from that point. That means, I need to go back and get the missing gifts. Will look lame in video. But who cares

Will try what you have said tomorrow and upload a new video.

Hurray! I made it!

Longplay: [ Show youtube player ]

Great game! I really enjoying playing it.

I also plan to play the original Jet Set Billy game. Do you know how many items i need to collect in that one? Or maybe I should play your Henry & Five Towers game? That looks good too..

CONGRATULATIONS !!!
And thank you very much for whole playing...

He he..., to tell the truth, this weekend I made a map and challenged it to complete.
First, visit Jet Set Willy Paradise.
Click "Map1" beside a floppy icon of Original Jet Set Billy's column.
(Items are 67 in total.)
If you need more help, click "Map2".
This route is the most efficient, I think.
I could "NO Death Run" on my CD32+FDD yesterday (without save states! of course!)
You will, too.

Beware its nightmare difficulty. I originally create that title
to finish my interest, "Which title is the hardest?".
The game itself is NOT impossible to collect all 220 items.
But we must use save state/ load state again and again and again and...

That map will be really helpful for me. Thank you!

I have added Joy2Key to JetSet Billy and have practiced the game a bit now. However, I noticed that the version i used differ from the Aminet version.

I downloaded the game from the Tosec with this filename: JETSET BILLY v1.00 (19xx)(Paasivirta, N.)[h ALE].adf. Some graphics are different and some rooms looks different too. But both versions says version 1.00. Weird...

Like this room:

I will play the Aminet version because you have a map ready for that. But have no time to play right now. Will do in a few days.

Ah, That is Rob Moseley version made in 1999,
the hardest version out of JSB series.
Yesterday I made a map for Rob Moseley version.
At this time I don't know which route is the most efficient, though.
I will try it next weekend.

@Nibbler
YES!! It's my fav game.
Visit the game page for details.
Or you felt that it was "rip-off"?(Don't afraid.) My thought is following.
It has totally different solution from original game.
Totally remade in 16 colors to fit in with Jet Set Billy series.
So these 7 areas fit into legal "an homage".
Of course every person's thought is different.
It matters whether this homage regarded as tracing.
At least,those unofficial homage should not be released as commercial.

If you want to see my original taste/idea,
play following scene in my games.

Elves' Dreamland: the 8th area, called "Nitta's Original Blessed Area"

Did IT Come From the Desert?: Especially EP3&5, it contains many my original scenes.

Ultimate Maze: The WHOLE game (Its difficulty isn't for general,though...)

To change sprites (bobs):

1. Place "Bobs.ilbm" & "Bobs.shadows.iblm" in pics drawer.
2. Doubleclick "bobconv" icon and click "OK".
3. It shows "Bobs.ilbm". Press "s" key.
4. It shows "Bobs.shadows.iblm" . Press Shift+s keys.
5. Created "Bobs.IMG" automatically. Program would read Bobs.IMG only.

note:
Bobs.ilbm must be 8 colors format.
And, this 8 colors are the quite same as #0~7 of graphics.ilbm(tiles).

How to make Bobs.shadows.ilbm:
1. Open Bobs.ilbm on PPaint.
2. Save a palette. (eg. bobs.col)
3. Change #2~7 to #1 (white grey).
4. Save as Bobs.shadows.ilbm
5. Load bobs.col
6. Remap
7. Save again.

Feel free to ask more if you're interested.
I'll answer as possible as I can.

Updated v1.2

Edited a map slightly.
Daze Before Christmas Upper Area 2-3: To avoid "infinite death loop".
Xmas Lemmings Area 3-3: To avoid "infinite death loop".
Daze Before Christmas Lower Area & Special Delivery Area: Very minor stuff.

In addition,
PNG version of the whole map is also available now at the game's webpage.

Don't worry. It was a minor change, so we can also use a longplay video
which hipoonios uploaded on Dec 13.

I just completed JetSet Willy using your great map

BTW, there seems to be 68 items and not 67. And have also made a longplay of this game as well.

However, this was also a good game. But I still prefer your version.

Nice to hear that you also have made a map of Rob Moseley's version. But don't think i will play that game. One JetSet Billy game is enough for me.

One more note,

Joy2key2 also crashes on kickstart 3.0 on a A500. So the crashes have nothing to do with the Kickstart you are using. The program needs 68020 or better to work correctly. You can also read this in the doc file that comes with the program.

Haha, maybe...

I just saw Jet Set Willy 3 on your site. Never heard about that before. Have you played it? I think it's a great game. I will try to beat that soon. There are 4 levels and it does not seem too difficult. No secret rooms and stuff (what i have seen so far).

Thanks for this wonderful Christmas gift. I'm enjoying it.

I'm playing it using FS-UAE, and found the default A500 configuration seemed too slow, and the default A4000 configuration seemed too fast. What's working best for me is the 020 version using a custom A600 configuration as follows:
Code:
amiga_model = A600
cpu = 68EC020
fast_memory = 4096
slow_memory = 1024
uae_blitter_cycle_exact = true
uae_cpu_24bit_addressing = true
uae_cpu_compatible = true
uae_cpu_cycle_exact = true
uae_cpu_frequency = 16
uae_cpu_speed = real
uae_cpu_throttle = 0.0
uae_cycle_exact = true
Probably not all of those settings are necessary, but just thought I'd share in case it helps someone else enjoy the game in FS-UAE.

Thanks again!

Hi, I'm glad to hear you are enjoying it.

Sorry I have not used FS-UAE so far. I usually use WinUAE for emulator.
And I use CD32+ Analogic FDD for real.
When I create map etc, I use A1200+8MB+"fastest possible" setting.
But actually gaming speed is fast and it become hard to jump from the edge of each platform.
Choose CPU emulation speed to 50%, this is much closer to my real amiga,I think.
You can also see hipoonios' longplay video.
Perhaps "too slow" is the correct speed at real amiga.
