HDF and OS4.1 are there any limits for the main partition?

Hi,
I wanted to ask this,
Currently OS 4.1 with a .hdf manages to exceed the limit of 2giga for the main partition?
Using sfs / 02 53465302
DH0: SYS <--- AmigaOS
Thank you for any response.

I don't know, it is purely software side (OS4) feature. Hardware (emulator) does not have any 2G or 4G or whatever limits.

From the OS4.1 disk (Amiga OS 4.1 Filesystems PDF):

SFS\02 - 0x53465302
Current filesystem. No recovery tools available. Fast journalling
filesystem. Does not require validation on filesystem error.

Max. partition size = 1 TB

SFS\00 and SFS\02 both support other block sizes, but on traditional harddisks
only a block size of 512 bytes should be used since SFS is slower with larger
block sizes. Of course, on SSDs and modern harddisks with 4KiB native block
size, you should nevertheless use a 4KiB block size.

Hope this helps.

Hi,
I have made an alternative guide to install AmigaOS 4.1
Using a .hdf, 30 gigabyte, the guide is complete to use browser streaming game etc.
For those interested, and in the support app.
Thanks for any other advice.
And your patience.

Did you forget to attach? Maybe send it to the zone?

Thanks!

But if you could (or someone) type up the instructions in a document that would be WAY better since the video is very blurry and the camera jumps a lot.

It also seems to run a lot faster than the normal installs that I have been doing, although I usually don't use A2065 with the ethernet.device in my
installations, I just use the Mediator board and the RTL8029 configuration and indeed did use it until I installed the qt stuff, then for some reason it
quit and I had to use it.

Just one area I had issues on and that was with the initial boot up with the CD... you show not using the Picasso IV video drivers at all and it looked
just fine, but on my system - the screen was all pixelated and very low res ... did you do something different in the configuration file when installing?

Good job overall! Love it!

EDIT: NVM about the video part, I went back and looked at the beginning and see that I missed the part about the PicassoIV card being used
The part where you showed the Hardware Configuration.

@Hi Saghalie,
thank you, I'm happy,
The guide was made to be improved by everyone starting from this base.

With the experiences of more users to be able to improve it.
Thanks again.
And thanks to Toni for working on winUAE, this is important! :-)

I've been getting a few emails from people asking me for assistance to get their OS4
install done. I've been asked to send my HDF via email which will not happen and I will
not accept an ISO (unless I've bought it). This is illegal either way. Whether I provide a
complete HDF or you provide me with your ISO.

That being said I have created a document that HAS PICTURES!!! And I hope you will be
able to follow it.

Why am I posting here? Because this is a first step. A basic install for OS4.1.
(MR.) White has done an excellent guide here for an advanced setup but it's
very blurry and the camera jumps a lot. So I am going to (over the next
several days) create a document that outlines his video. I might even take a
shot at doing my own video with my video suite (THAT I have Never Used
)

@Saghalie
Hi, thanks , here are the links to get the videos of the guide in HD
Also find a script to run AWeb ppc 3.15 with YT.rexx
It would be important to make it work for those interested.
I put them in the support app section
I hope they can be useful.
