It was? Me neither, that's surprising! Nice find D! Do you know if the board A500 based?

edit:

Oh! Just read a bit and it's not A500 based, seems custom. Megaphoenix and After the War were also released on the arcades and based on the same hardware. Mediocre games all three, I wonder if anybody spent his/her coin on them!

Interesting, I had no idea those 3 had arcade versions.

The first link says all three were finished but NOT put out on the market, they are prototypes tested only in some amusement parks in Madrid. So I guess not many people put coins in them because that was one of the reasons this didn't get past test phase.
Also says they had planned to do Narco Police too if this ran well.

The article for Megaphoenix explains a bit more of the hardware: it says it was based on the Atari ST and that all dev versions of the games ran on Atari ST hardware. 1000 boards were made among the three games.

Not surprised this didn't work, since by 91 the arcades were already sadly dying by hand of the consoles.

I remember playing an arcade game of a dude with a hammer:

Hammerboy looks like a cheap ripoff.

This kind of makes sense as all the Dinamic games I played asks the user to start in either Part 1 or 2, making it easy for the player to continue without starting over from scratch.

I would love to see After the War on arcade cabinet if there were any difference from computer versions. Sadly some people hear about it but nobody have seen it or have some proof of its existence.

A bit of source code for After the War Arcade exist. Each board is based on the MC68000, with the TMS34010 as graphics processor, plus a z80 to drive the sound part.

The ST was used as dev machine. The problem is that technically speaking, AFTW, HMB and MPHX are weak games.

It was pure madness to put them in Arcade. They should have picked Risky Woods or either Navy Moves, way more entertaining than the 3 above.

Totally agree; I wouldn't had even popped a quarter once just to try these, if they were in the arcade I visited back then.

Way too much quality stuff around x100 in comparison.

I wonder how Zool looks on arcades, was it based on amiga version? Or was it improved? As for HMB it looks weak, but AFTW could be good game if it was improved.

Not really surprising this was never generally released as an arcade game - it would have been financial suicide to release this garbage and expect people to put coins into it :P
