I used to love the rock-with-guitar-samples stuff you'd get on certain games.

On the Amiga I used to love the Menace music, someone had a lot of fun sequencing those guitar samples.

On the C64 I used to love Skate or Die, the intro music was amazing - not sure what it'd sound like to listen to now though!

If you count in an old pc beat'em-up classic, then One Must Fall had some nice catchy in-game tunes too

My favourite music is the "The Faerytale Adventure". It changes from day to night and when you enter a specific building.
I remember: Night had fallen and you've got lost in some area. Turning the Brightness on your TV solved several probs.

My fave EVER ending tune on Amiga was Another world infact i am listening to a remix of it now and only one problem it's too f'ing short here's the link if you'd like to hear it was a hard game at the time and very very advanced for it's time http://www.amigaremix.com/main.php?s...r+world&page=3

In the old days on c64 early Amiga (8 bit computers too) the out-tro ending game was something you EARNED with consoles these days (and PC too) it's all given on a plate before you start even!

@parsec i agree m8 Skate or die music on c64 was awesome too!

Another World ! Great endtune. This is such a tune where you lean back and enjoy the glory ending. Completed Another World every now and than. And it always feels the same. What a masterpeace !

I agree about Another World. Its one of my all time favourites. And it really does still feel the same.

My favourite in game music has to be Dune. At the moment that's all I can remember. Also, Escape From Colditz had beautiful intro music.

Sounds funny, but I'm not into that techno-music.
The original "Faerytale"-tunes are far better.

Cheers, Rick

obviously "Turrican 1 & 2"

And also on Amiga would be "Unreal" by Ubisoft. Not to be confused with the PC game.

Risky Woods title music.

Jim Power.

Agony.

X-Out title and loading music.

you will find them here in case you havent heard all these? although i find that highly unlikely.

On the C64 i would say "Driller, The Last Ninja, Myth & Vendetta" .. I just realised that 3 of those are System 3 games!.

You can never choose just 1 game for this sort of question, there has been so much great game music over the years.

Most of my fave ingame tunes have already been mentioned so it seems unneccesary to post all of them again. The game with the best in game music is imo Turrican 2. Chris Hülsbeck is a god! Another game with good ingame music is Cruise for a Corpse. It's not the type of music I like listen to but it gives the game a really nice atmosphere.

No, the Battle Squadron tune was nicked from a c64 title.

Thatz not true. It was composed with sonic arranger on the AMIGA. And so it sounds really like a SID tune.

Nicked does not mean it has a c64 playback routine, it is just an exact copy of an existing c64 tune. As such it was certainly edited by an amiga composer, but the tune still remains unoriginal.
There was either a game or demo with the exact same tune on c64.
I can no longer remember which one was it, but I can remember how we discussed it with the amiga guys whether it was written by the same person, had the right to do that or just went ahead and did it (in this case it was probably a c64 demo originally).

I've rediscovered an old favourite recently - Astaroth. I had forgotten all about my love for the music in this game until I was randomly shuffling through a bunch of Deliplayer files a few weeks ago. Beautiful work.

Just to throw in a few less obvious titles that had better ingame (than intro) music not mentioned so far:

Clown O Mania
Rock N Roll
Obliterator

then some well known classics:

Settlers
Pinball series
SuperCars II
