ToughStick (Amiga SANWA Arcade stick) review

Howdy,

TLDR version: I did a quick review /test of the ToughStick. A custom Amiga arcade stick.

Link to YouTube review:

Longer version:

Some of you will remember when Richard Löwenstein showed a preview of ReShoot 3 Proxima in this forum. Some ppl noted a somewhat weird but intereting arcade joystick in that preview video.
We asked some questions about it and he pointed us to this guy in Germany who makes these custom sticks.

URL to where you can get it:
https://www.mister-fpga.de/arcade-joysticks/

So I went on and ordered one, and to be clear it took some months between order and delivery.

Anyway, I've now put together another video and this time you can get a closer look at this unusual arcade stick.

Good, it's a classic 2buttons joystick + 1button mapped to Up to Jump/Accelerate.

Its good, but to be perfectly honest, I prefer BatHandle sticks.

Now I also wonder if there are any C64 games that use 2 buttons.

C64 officiale 2 buttons games are 2 cartridges released for the console C64GS:

RoboCop 2
Chase HQ 2

But many games have been patched to use 2nd button:

Thanx for the info, but ok, that list contained 8 items + 2 you mentioned. Thats 10 from possibly as many as 10,000 c64 releases ;-)
Anyway, the stick is nice for many types of games, even if only 1 button is used.

There is bathandle joystick like Joycart, it's compatible with many platforms, not only Amiga or C64 and it can use up to three buttons depending on platform.

Of course there are games supporting not only two, but even three independent buttons. Moreover, some new games also supports 2/3 buttons and CrystalCT patched many games to multi-button support.

But...

Do You know that 2nd and 3rd button works different on C64/128 than Amiga?

This is only currently available joystick supporting three independent buttons, autofire on first and also up mapped to button. Also thanks to these carts joystick supports many hardware platforms. More information is here.

Edit: Some more games with 2/3 buttons support which I remember.
Briley Witch Chronicles
Metal Warrior Ultra
Polar Bear in Space
SNK vs CapCom
Wormhole
