Content on Moby Games

We've just got permission to use any material on Moby Games for HOL. So if you spot something over there that would be useful to be added to HOL please let us know (and I totally didn't copy/paste this from the Atari Mania thread )

In most cases it works the other way round. Moby does not have a lot of information/entries thaf HOL has but Moby is afraid to put :-)

But it is a good sign that they gave the permission.

I found a few Amiga box images on Moby Games that were missing in HOL Given that they cover pretty much every system it's not really surprising that they lack in depth for one system.

Much of the information at that site is just made up; I don't think it is a trustworthy source of information for HOL.

Exactly. They are trying to change that but some updates take years to be accepted and some require some rudiculous proof like link to the website that can verify information about the game existed over 30 years ago.

Submitting information about new Amiga games is a real struggle there. While making updates and corrections I give link to HOL as a "trustworthy site that is the proof of my submission". In most cases it is accepted. So still I think that cooperation with Moby will be beneficial rather for them then for HOL. Of course there are some useful information and scans provided by many well known collectors - you can't say that it is not and still this is good that HOL got the permission.

It's mainly about using their scans (which can be confirmed as not being 'made up' by cross referencing with for example reviews and adverts).
