Competition Pro not working [Solved]

From what I've read the Speedlink USB Competition Pro joystick should be plug in and play, but I'm having trouble.

I can either get the fire button working, or nothing at all. The stick works in other emulators.

I'm running the latest FS-UAE on Windows 8.1

Could somebody take the time to give me directions on how to get it working?

Thank you.

It really should be plug and play. Perhaps you have inserted the joystick device into the wrong Amiga port? That could explain why only the fire button works (fire button == mouse button). Otherwise, please let us know what game you're trying to play and attach Documents/FS-UAE/FS-UAE.log.txt to a post.

Thanks for the reply.

I've tried it with 1942, Another World, and lastly Cybernoid II. The joystick also doesn't go up and down in the settings menu (but fire button does activate an option).

I'm sure it's something I'm doing wrong. I've attached the log.

It looks like you have used the controller configuration dialog without fully setting up the controller (it should not have been necessary to use it to begin with btw), so either:
  • Delete the file F:\My Documents\FS-UAE\Controllers\speed_link_competition_pro_4_2_0_0_windows.conf (the easiest solution)
  • or open the controller configuration and map also map the joystick axes (to either the dpad or left stick) in addition to the fire button (to south_button).

Deleting the conf file didn't change anything.

But creating a new conf file with the mapping you suggested worked. Thanks for your help.

Now I've no excuse for how bad I am at Cybernoid II.
