Space Quest : Read Write error

I want report a read write error for Space Quest pack.

after taking off with the escape pod from arcada, the game terminates with a read/write disk error.

I tried to make my own pack from the image in SPS, but that image seems to be broken. The main executable sierra file is 0 length.

I found working executable from guild of thieves crack, copied it to SPS image and made a (seemingly) working installation.

btw, I'm talking about the original version, not the enhanced one.

here is a walkthrough if somebody wants to have a look at it,

http://www.wiw.org/~jess/sq1.html

also, I noticed some previously saved games on the save directory in kg's pack, which are also present in guild of thieves crack, which made me think the installation was made from this crack. however that disk also seems to have a validation problem.

This issue still remains in the latest packs, any resolution to make the install from the SPS image rather than a bad crack?
