I am looking for Gloom 3 - Ultimate Gloom, HD. Where could I find the game or is it still in sale?

Just one question:
Does any of the Gloom games run on a standard ECS A-500+ or A-600 ? Or do all of them require AGA and a faster processor than a 68000 ? |

Gloom Deluxe runs in ECS, but it may need more than the standard 1Mb (or 512K) of memory.
Really, with Doom clones - more memory and a fast processor are essentials. You could try Citadel - that will run on an A500 with a tiny screen. |

Gloom Deluxe would run on ECS machines, provided it had 020 and 2mb ram
Citadel runs well on A500, contrary to what many think There's also Deathmask which is said to run on any 1mb Amiga, but I have yet to play it --- I'm on my UNIX box now. This sux. People are uploading ADFs and I can't download them cause all the code that I have to write for uni only runs on UNIX....I might miss the Gloom flood |

Deathmask
Deathmask will run on an A500, but it's not Doom. It's more like Dungeon Master/Hired Guns.

Deathmask
Deathmask was definitely sold as if it was a Doom clone. No-one mentioned that it used the same type of engine as Dungeon Master!
It wasn't that bad though. |

I never really liked death mask that much. Somehow you didn't get too much control over the game. In games like doom or even wolfenstein (The old one) you could make it harder for the enemy to hit you. Here when you encounter an enemy it seems more like you stand still facing each other while shooting away.
I noticed a multiplayer function, but I doubt it'd be much fun though. If you tried to run away you'd just end up getting shot in the back so Deathmatch is out I'm guessing since it would be a question of who gets the first shot as long as noone runs out of ammo. |

I whole heartedly agree with your thoughts on control in Death Mask, Drake, but I honestly thought that, being the first real Doomish game on A500, that it was a pretty solid effort. I remember The One Amiga giving the game only 57% or so, and bagging the crap out of it.
Now that I've finally played it on an emulator, I think it isn't that bad at all, despite its flaws. I would give it at least at 70% |

Deathmask is an average game. There's nothing much you can do to avoid the enemies, and the 2 players deathmatch sux bad (One player encounters other, the one with best weapon wins)
There's a an ECS doom clone that's rather playabler an good, called "Behind the Iron Gate" . Does anyone know this one? @Akira In case no one knows, that's another couple of disks I could send to you for dumping |

Wow!:eek Behind the Iron Gate is absolutely fantastic!
When I first loaded it up I honestly couldn't believe that this was an A500 game (with all due respect to Amigas, that is ) Smooth scrolling and pretty good graphics, with great playability! |
