Just an info on my collection
There are two .txt files inside it Well, you can simply delete them after the download Indeed these two files ("Notes.txt" and "Scanned.txt") are there ONLY for backup purpose For the collection itself these files are irrelevant That's all |

can you try to use at least the differential archive with 7zip for next updates :
make a big 7z of your current folder, then when you want to make an update, use : Code:
7z u c:\archive.7z c:\archive_folder -ms=off -mx=9 -t7z -u- -up0q3r2x2y2z0w2!c:\newsDATE.7z after news.7z archive done, delete archive.7z and make a new archive.7z (what you do each time) |

EAB/FTP needs a rule
"Upload updates only!" It's such a big waste, shortens lifespan of hardware, uses wasteful energy. .....luckily we have more earths next door. |

last chance - update for Dummy :
in your ADA directory, make a directory called NEW copy the new entries (with dir) in NEW directory when you want to make an update, zip the NEW directory only, then cut the content of NEW directory and copy it into ADA directory you have your update archive... yep, I waste my time... |

The easiest way is to create DAT file with Clrmamepro. This tool will create nice update pack with few seconds.

Sorry guys, but ADA will not be released with update packs
I don't like this kind of solution, as simple as that Meanwhile another release is uploading As usual more files are contained in this version, exactly 14.699 for a total size of 3,30 GB Enjoy the collection |

Hey guys
I have a solution to propose. This solution can update a more or less old pack because it allows to rename, modify and add files to make them conform to the last pack (2020-05-22) This solution uses the properties of the parity archives. How it works : - You must first install the MultiPar (or compatible program that manages PAR2 files) - Download the file "ADA Update 2020-05-22.par2" (4mb): /~Uploads/Crashdisk/ADA Update/ADA Update 2020-05-22.par2 - Put the PAR2 file at the root of the ADA folder to be updated - Launch MultiPAR from the PAR2 file - After evaluation, MultiPAR will indicate how many blocks it will need to update the folder For example: From the edition of 2020-05-08 to that of 2020-05-22 : 386 blocks needed From the edition of 2020-03-30 to that of 2020-05-22 : 1.460 blocks needed The next step would be to download the parity files (1 file = 116 blocks = 46mb). So, to update the pack: 2020-05-08 > 4 parity files = 186mb 2020-03-30 > 13 parity files = 605mb It's a little crazy but it works ^^ |

I'm still using Usenet for some reasons so i like your idea but peoples not familiar with PARs will have problems with understand what are you talking about. In my opinion the easiest way is use Clrmamepro.
1) Create DAT file using Option Dir2Dat from previous collection 2) Create DAT file using Option Dir2Dat from present collection 3) Create FixDAT file from previous collection 4) Using rebuilder to create Update Pack It'll take several minutes ALL. |

Yes, I started with this idea, but it's not without its problems:
- There are zip archives in the package and tools like ROMVault doesn't handle that well - The files should not all be zip-compressed. - We shouldn't lose the folder structure But if it helps, I've already done the datfiles (in The Zone) |
