I'm sure it will do 'REALLY' well.

Pretty poor specs at least what is posted. Get a C1 instead if you really must make 8 bit games

This console would be useless if you wanted to write 8-bit games. It's got a 16-bit CPU, you see. Duh.

Indeed, I remembered the 65816 (which does not compare well to say a 68k, being an enhanced 8 bit 6502 cpu). Still not very good for a 2003 design, from the scarce information available. They could have even made a system capable of emulating an a500 in hw easily, yet they went for c64/atari only architecture, meaning character maps and static lores attributed (vs palette based) graphics if that is what they mean.

Well, it's not a dedicated gaming console but a system for hackers and tinkerers. It looks like it'd be a great educational tool and at $99 U.S. it's much more affordable than the C-1, which has a target price of around $250 U.S. It doesn't interest me as I am not a programmer but I can see the appeal.

It'd be great if the C-1 web site has such a nice professional look as the XGameStation site too.

I agree with that. And it would also be interesting to read about projects of making spectrum/amiga cores for C-1 (they say it is possible).
