Deep Core crashes with WinUAE keyboard cfg A

WinUAE 4.3.0.0 last beta (28.Sep.2019 17:48)

Deep Core (WHD) crashes back to WB if I move left-right too fast, with WinUAE default keyboard layout A (numpad + numpad 5 as fire).

Repro steps:
  1. Start the game
  2. move player left-right very fast repeatedly in front of a door
  3. player sprite should get trashed and then the game crashes

Tested also the ADF files and does the same, when using joystick gameport with keyboard layout A...

Can't reproduce the crash using a real USB joystick.

Could it be that left and right are getting pressed at the same time occasionally? You wouldn't be able to do that with a joystick....

Old news, see this thread: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=70511&page=4

Yup, when using any keyboard layout and you move too quickly left / right or down / up, the game will crash.

Doesn't happen if using a joystick...

Same thing occurs with Arnie 2

An update to the WHDLoad slave can fix the problem.

Try this:
Attached Files
File Type: zip deepcore_uss.zip (365.8 KB, 9 views)

Mmmh, maybe Toni can prevent this kind of behavior when using Keyb Layout. It would automatically "fix" all games of this kind crashing when receiving unexpected opposite directions input at the same time…
I usually play with my Speedlink USB Competition Pro SL-650212-BKRD and just by accident noticed this strange issue.

I think an option is better than as a default fixed.
Actually in a real machine, opening the joystick and pressing both microswitch you can have the same crash
