Also, the game zip archives seem to be available from archive.org, which makes it legal, right?

They could ask for all captures to be removed.

My point was that Cinemaware clearly used to recommend thegamearchives.com and have their games available as free download, now they suddenly changed their minds, which they are entitled to.

However, that doesn't mean I have to change my mind about the game titles already downloaded from Cinemaware, does it?

Grab em before they disappear!

Curious to know if Cinemaware removed any on disk copy protection themselves, used cracked versions or did they release versions with no protection? Lords of the Rising Sun had Copylock I think so obviously the ADF has none.

You already have access to an emulated version? What's the problem with using WinUAE + ADF or IPF?

Sure. No problem in that either, but I like GOG service because it serves me as a cloud service. Keeps my games listed, backed up and in one place where I find them fast. It also keeps them mobile without the need of taking some mass storage with ADF or IPF collection with me if I travel.

When downloaded, they also offer usability in offline state even if whole www.gog.com would disappear for any reason which is an advantage compared to Steam services. Not to mention the higher risk of data loss possibility of local ADF/IPF private collections (I do have Catweasel, Kryoflux and similar though).

I think it is the job of the original poster to justify the topic in the first place, not mine.
