Vampire standalone too eventually, but no, nobody has any plans for a socketed board to put an old 68k series processor in it.
Reloaded will take accellerator boards, and vampire stand alone is FPGA/ASIC |

A1200 Reloaded with the new cases and perhaps soon new keyboards and Amiga-fied new PC floppy drives will be as close to a new 1200 as you can get, short of finding a NOS one (which is still old and needs recapping). |

I know that, but it's the only other option on the table at the moment, and retro-nerd had already mentioned the Reloaded board.

What about MIST and Mimimig? I guess they could be integrated into an A1200 chassis.

True, but then you could also include Raspberry Pi and other SBC's running UAE too.

I had high hopes for the Amiga Reloaded mobo, because we all know Jens can deliver products. But by now its about 8 months late and still very quiet. I'm sure Jens has some plans, just don't know what they are, so its hard to pitch it as a recommended solution to your problems... ;-)
Anyhoo, at this point I think Vampire standalone just might actually beat the Amiga Reloaded to market so that would be my plan B. New Amiga cases are (almost) being manufactured right now, or at least very soon (matter of days?) so there's a good chance to get new parts and put something together that looks and feels like an Amiga, albeit with some trade offs.. That being said.. the options above both require faith and waiting.. if you get a second hand A1200 in good condition recap it with organic polymer caps and don't do other stupid things with it, chances are it will work for a looong time.. You should be good for a decade or so.. After that, Im pretty sure there will be super high end FPGAs capable of running the Apollo Core at 10GHz ;-) |

Seriously though.. Realistically, any set of quality caps should be good for at least 20 years. Even electrolytic ones. But I honestly don't know how the rest of the chips will cope... Then again.. In 20 years you will probably 3d print your next set of caps ;-) (And you will still be able to buy OS3.1 for only €129 from the generous people at Cloanto.) Skickat från min LG-H850 via Tapatalk |

That nobody can build and sell A1200m's in an age when Nintendo can sell out of NES Minis is sad.. So truly very very terribly sad..
