Unhappy Rapidroad for xsurf100 issues

I have had a x-surf100 (which works well)and bought the rapidroad.
Installed as a zorro2 along with Poseidon4.5 from Jens site.
Tested with aeon usb mouse, fine.
Tested with aeon usb keyboard, fine.
Tried several usb stick (btw, fat 95 installed) amiga locks up and gives a "red alert" sound.
contacted AmigaKit, tried everything they suggested:
clean 3.1, clean 3.9 powered hub and so on...
still will not accept usb sticks.
I pulled the xsurf/rapidroad, set in an old highway card, left 4.5 and everything works even usb sticks!!!

Any help?

BTW, amiga is Escom 4000T with quikpak 060, only other card picasso4

Do you have the mmu lib installed?

http://de4.aminet.net/util/libs/MMULib.lha

Why dont you run it as ZorroIII?

No, I don't have mmu.lib.
Why would I or better why should I?

Poseidon reported several errors- in the zorro3 mode. It reported none in zorro 2.

Thanks for the reply,

The RapidRoad driver use mmu.library if it is installed.

Jens explains here: http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=...&postcount=284

After reading the docs, I installed the mmu.lib.
The only thing that happened/improved is that the "red alert" sound stopped.

BTW, the sound is just the insert device alert caught in a loop.

Meanwhile, I tried the x-surf100/Rapidroad combo in a 4000Desktop w/040
The usb sticks works as expected.
So, since the Poseidon software is working with the Highway card, I have no idea where the incompatiblity is happening.

Still looking for suggestions/help!

TIA,

Yes, 3.9 with boing bag 1 and 2.
I did start with a clean 3.1 install. But moved to a clean install of 3.9 as advised by AmigaKit. (to use input.device v50)

Questions have been opened about versions of 060 libs. Any ideas?
I also noticed another thread re rapidroad but with the 3640. Did this get cleared up?

In a sense, I already tried the 060 lib that came with the quikpak 060 and the libs in MMULibs. Does anyone else have the libs that came with the quikpak so that I can compare?

You can test with all the different libraries until you are green. The fact is that RapidRoad was never thoroughly tested before shipping. Wait until they (icomp) get the drivers fixed.
