@Plasmatron & Mr_A500:

Mega Phoenix has nothing to do with the original, IMHO! I know this game long ago, but I don't like it at all! I was talking about the original one, without 'enhancements'!

AFAIK some titles:

The Last V8
Trashman
H.E.R.O.
Forbidden Forest
Impossible Mission
Pharaoh's Curse, and some other platformers I can't remember the name of right now...

And indeed, Beach Head & other Bruce Carver programmed games would have been cool to be '16-bitted'...

How could I forget most of the A2600 titles? River Raid and a sequel to Keystone Kapers would have been great . Also Beamrider (which you could of consider an A2600 version of Juno First)

"Genesis" on the MSX, what a terrific shoot-em up game that was, cute gfx for an MSX!!

@dirkies

Impossible Mission is on the Amiga in "Impossible Mission 2025" which contains both the updated version and the classic version.

Pharaoh's Curse is also on the Amiga.

@commie1974

So, MegaPhoenix doesn't do it for you eh? I was searching for a version of Phoenix since 1984 and MegaPhoenix satisfied me. (...then again Deluxe Galaga does nothing for my desire for the Atari 800 Galaxian)

nostalgiaramatastic!

Well this has been a fun post to research I went through the list of games on The Amstrad CPC Games Resource to find all my old favourites and then compared that to HOL. I was pleasantly surprised to find many games that had been converted that I hadn't known about before!

But to the point. Here's my 8-bit MIA (Missing In Amiga) list in no particular order:

Solomon's Key
Get Dexter! (aka Crafton & Xunc)
Highway Encounter / Alien Highway
Jack The Nipper
Psycho Pigs UXB
Slap Fight
Thrust
Revs (wasn't released on the Amstrad but still good
Way Of The Exploding Fist
Yie Ar Kung Fu
Wonderboy
Knight Tyme

Also worthy of mention are a couple of games who's sequels made it to the Amiga even though the originals didn't:

ATF
Druid
Gauntlet
Gryzor
Spindizzy

Afair you can find the complete Druid 1 game in Warlock the Avenger, when selecting the level pointing the wizard's hand to the tower.

Too much good news for one day! I remember I did a floppy disc installer for Druid (1 & 2) on the CPC

Whats the relationship between Warlock & Druid ? I mean, how come Druid was included in this way? Any idea?

forgot Melbourne House "FIST II" , what a damn cool C64 karate platformer that was!

And I think "The Last Ninja I" never made it on Amiga, only the (bad) sequels, no?

Last Ninja Remix on Amiga was pretty much identical to C64 Last Ninja1 as far as I could tell.

Ghosts 'n' Goblins was one of my favourites on the C64 but the Amiga version is completely different.
The C64 version was the one that was different. The Amiga version is much closer to the arcade original.

Montezuma's Revenge
I love the sickening 'thud' as you fall to the ground and the twitching leg as you lay squashed. This is similar to 'Rick Dangerous' on the Amiga but I think Montezuma is more playable.

Several games mentioned in this thread already would make my list, but there is another old Atari 800 game nobody has mentioned that I'd like to have seen on the Amiga. Spelunker was a very addictive game, and a very difficult one as well.

It would have been nice a budget release or something of JumpingJack from Imagine, with nice sprites..

Mask from Gremlin is great on Speccy and Amstrad, and very elaborated. It would be nice an Amiga version with full screen and tons of bullets and enemies.

Also some Hewson classics: Gunrunner, Anarchy, Pyracurse,.. and specially Marauder.

ah! and Trapdoor. what a classic!!

Definitively it would be cool to that someone makes some 8 bit classics on the Amiga, I thought to make someone in Flash, but the feeling is crap compared to an Amiga game.

Also WecLemans.

Yes Trapdoor was great too, I missed that one on my list

Some VIC=20 games that didnt make it to the Amiga (hehe wonder why) but are really very good:

Matrix - the sequel to Gridrunner (Jeff Minter)
Rockman - falling-rocks-collect-the-diamonds puzzler, maybe like Boulderdash
Jetpac - fly about and collect rocket parts and fuel to escape each level
Star Defence - a.k.a. Stargate but Defender by any other name

Some details here.
