If it's different it's not an alt. If there is a difference to identify it then there's no need for the [a]
If idoru doesn't want the [m cracktro disabled] then there's no reason that [cracktro disabled] couldn't be used as it is "more info" which is what the [] was invented for. Either way the less [a]'s there are the better Last edited by Ian; 29 December 2008 at 02:29. |

I prefer the [m] method since the original cracks got modified but now people could also say "How you know it got modified and not made by the cracker like this?" but that still doesn't convince me to not use [m] flag.

[KS]
This tag is used if a disk requires a non standard kickstart (1.3 for OCS/ECS or 3.0/3.1 for AGA) to make it work. I hope this is correct and I think some disks need to be updated. I will have a look later and tomorrow to make a list of those who need this tag |

Let me try to be more precise. General i would say, there is no need to use [KS1.3], this should be the standard KS. I also would say, there is no need to use [KS3.0] and [KS3.1], this games/ programs then most time automatically needs AGA. [KS3.0] and [KS3.1] were never used in current Amigagames-dat. The most used more info flags are: [KS1.2] game/program needs Kickstart 1.2 to run [KS2.0] game/program needs Kickstart 2.0 to run |

What I meant is that 1.3, 3.0 and 3.1 are the 'standard' kickstarts that don't have to be mentioned Anyway I think there are some disks that are missing the [KS2.0] info (OCS/ECS games).

don't know if this helps but:
"*KS*" more info flags used in Commodore Amiga - Games - [ADF]: Code:
'FD, KS2.0' 'KS1.2' 'KS1.2, AMOS' 'KS1.3' 'KS2.0' 'KS2.0 or CLI - 'pinkyrun' on KS1.3' 'KS2.0, 4Mb' 'KS2.0, AMOS' 'KS2.04' 'KS2.04, write enable' Code:
'FD, KS2.0' 'HD, KS2' 'HD, KS2.0' 'HD, KS3.0' 'KS 1.2' 'KS 2.0' 'KS 2.05' 'KS1.2' 'KS1.2, 2Mb' 'KS1.2, AMOS' 'KS1.3' 'KS2, Call-Ware' 'KS2.0' 'KS2.0 or CLI - 'pinkyrun' on KS1.3' 'KS2.0, 2Mb' 'KS2.0, 4Mb' 'KS2.0, AMOS' 'KS2.0, C64 conversion' 'KS2.0, Frotz interpreter' 'KS2.0, Frotz interpreter - Adventure 07' 'KS2.0, Frotz interpreter - Adventure 14' 'KS2.0, SurveyWare, AMOS' 'KS2.0, WB' 'KS2.0, packed' 'KS2.0, req. explode.library V4+' 'KS2.0, unregistered' 'KS2.04' 'KS2.04, AMOS' 'KS2.04, write enable' 'KS3.0' 'KS3.1 patch' 'KSpread 2, Jun 1994' 'WB, KS1.3' 'WB, KS1.3, AMOS' 'WB, KS2.0' I think the more info flag lists are too big because of 'non standardized' usage of them (for example lots of variations to the same flag or packing 2 things in one flag) Example (in games - adf): You both already described the "[FD]" and "[KS2.0]" flag. Code:
flag - times used [FD] - 1 [KS2.0] - 27 But, for example there is also one "[FD, KS2.0]" that would not be found this way, is only used once and i don't know if using "FD, KS2.0" is the best way to do it since i think they are not related and are 2 different informations (+ there is no rule in TNC that talks about splitting things in more info field with ", ") so i guess that maybe it is like: Code:
Championship Manager 2 - Including Season 96-97 Updates v1.57 (1997)(Eidos)[cr FLT][rm][FD, KS2.0] Code:
Championship Manager 2 - Including Season 96-97 Updates v1.57 (1997)(Eidos)[cr FLT][rm][FD][KS2.0] |

@PandMonium, Thank you for the efforts, and of course it helps,
that gives me the next question @TCD, Is there any need to make differences to use [KS2.0] [KS2.04], [KS2.05] I think its all the same, if we use general [KS2.0] it should be ok. Tell me please. |

What i said is that i prefer to have few flags that are used at same time when needed instead of lots of big flags used few times. (Like "[KS2.0]", "[AMOS]" vs "[KS2.0]", "[AMOS]", "[KS2.0, AMOS]" using "[KS2.0][AMOS]" when needed instead of "[KS2.0, AMOS]" which is only used 3 times ) |

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the difference between 2.04 and 2.05 is the support the harddrives (I know somebody will correct me ). I don't think the difference matters for which kickstart can boot the disk. Anyway could you make a pack of the disks with the [KS2.04] and [KS2.05] tags and upload them to Magix FTP. I would have a look tomorrow to make sure it works with both versions (and possibly KS 3.0 too) and you can go on with your great renaming work

Okay, I have one disk with 2.04 and one with 2.05 here (a demo and an app), so I will test those with both kicks tomorrow

you guys do know that it is possbile for a game to require ks3+ and still run on ecs machines don't you. I know it is highly unlikely that any exist, but it is possible!

I also thought there might be some that really require KS 3+ and not only KS 2+. Now it pays off that I made my 2900 configs I'll will look for those that have KS 3+ and ECS and check if they also work with KS 2
