Best music editor for AMOS?

Something tells me that AMOS' track load won't like OpenMPT modules :P.

Preferably something that has sample synthesis/generation so I won't have to hunt for samples and is free.

There are some extensions to play AHX modules that are totally synthetic instruments and the modules can be edited from the HivelyTracker editor. Note that THX was the format name originally.

Otherwise use Protracker modules and edit them in MilkyTracker. Recent Modplug Tracker files are an Impulse Tracker variation but can be exported to .IT files and imported into MilkyTracker and exported to 4 voice Protracker modules.

It is, but you need to know that this format had many revisions over the years and modern MODs my not play nice with AMOS which expect old version of the format.

I seem to remember that original mod inporter in the .abk is using still Noisetracker MOD format and that means say goodbye to all the potracker EXX extended commands; there should be some third party component to handle newer commands though...

I think AMCAF offers a modern player. Not that I've ever noticed any problems with the old Track Load/Track Play.

isn't amos pro able to play med4 mods? there's some synthesis possible in octamed as well.

I remember when I used to use Amos all the mods I'd converted would be out of sync unless I incremented all the notes in the 4th channel by 1 slot.
