Maybe a dumb question, but might it be possible to have a kind of "Latest additions" folder, where all new files might be put in for a week before sorted in?
So that I won't miss any new file? :-) |

That's what the dats are for, check for missing and new additions.
ClrmamePro and RomVault both do an excellent job. ROMVault also works in Linux using Mono. |

Unfortunately it seems on Amiga there is no solution? In the past it was more or less easy. I just load the ftp directory with all your installs and sorted the List (DOpus5) by date. The latest are shown on top of the list.

Indeed a bit inconvenient. The #-Z folders on the FTP prevents the "recently changed" view. I don't care about dat files, imo only useful for Mame Rom sets or if all the games have wrong names. Anyway, i'll find your updates.

Well, I see it the same way like Retro-Nerd...
Anyway I will keep my eyes open on any updates. |

In filezilla at least you can download all the new files with 'preserve timestamps' selected.
Later, you can select the #-Z folders for download again, and filezilla wil ask if you want to overwrite the existing downloaded files. There is an option along the lines of 'overwrite if source file different size or newer'. Select this and you'll only download new and changed files. The other option on the amiga side is if you have the ftp site mounted you can try doing 'list all since' the date you last checked. http://wiki.amigaos.net/wiki/AmigaOS...Reference#LIST |

Here's an even easier solution. In filezilla there is a 'remote file search' option.
Just browse to Retroplay's uploads folder and use the option boxes in the remote file search dialog to search for files with dates after the last time you visited, e.g. 2017-02-28. These are listed in the search results panel. Use crtl-a to select all the search results, right click and download. That's pretty simple and it means Retroplay doesn't need to maintain changelogs. He's already doing quite a bit of work! |

Yes, check please check for latest installs at whdload.de for new additions.
I usually install and upload within a day anyway. It's much easier for me to maintain dats, because they are based on all the latest files I have at hand locally here on my hdd. You can also list files in chronological order from my cloud drive link in your webbrowser if your ftp client isn't capable of doing that. I always keep my own stash up to date. That being said, I can't believe it's been almost 8 years I've been doing this. Latest Killergorilla (how are you buddy?) update was in 2009, 2 years later WHDownLoad was updated with some of "my" files, time flies... But don't worry my fellow Amiga friends, I don't plan to stop any time soon. |

Excellent work, many thanks, can I just double check to get the full set do we need to first download from http://kg.whdownload.com/kgwhd/ then your updates from the file server or are they already in the file server downloads now that they are all updated?

I have to say it's a great thing you have done with the WHDLoad installs, no idea how you did it so quickly and kept sane! must have been a bit of a bore!
Apart from the clean up, having them all as LHA files makes life easier when unpacking as you no longer need to separate the zips from the LHAs when using DirOpus to unpack. Great work, thank you very much we all really appreciate your hard work. By the way for those that were asking about updating the files I use WinSCP as it has a directory comparison/sync feature that is very useful, enables you to automaticity just download new files and delete old ones. Works really well. |

Just glanced through the thread but didn't see mention of this, but; I just jumped on the FTP to see if anything was new, but everything appears to be timestamped late February or newer which makes finding "new" content impossible. Any ideas what happened to the timestamps?
