Account Pruning
Hi,
My login (that I thought I had) didn't work and I couldn't do a password reset with my regular email addresses so I signed up. I just had a check in my emails and I signed up about 2 years ago and again 2 years or so before that! Are accounts pruned if somebody doesn't sign in after a certain period? Are they pruned even if that account has messages associated with it? I can understand if the person has never written a message and hasn't signed in for years but it's a pity if the person has written messages and they are then lost. |

Your account would have been removed if you had fewer than 10 posts and your last activity was more than four months previously.

You beat me to it, was just about to answer my own question as I just read this:
" Account termination One member will be removed from the EAB if : User has not posted enough (< 10 posts) and his last EAB visit is more than 4 months old. (120 days) " I'd better try harder this time! |

True, although I'm sure there's a spam limit as well! ;-)
Are old messages deleted as well? That seems a pity as their could be interesting things in those messages for others over time. |

Even though the account is pruned, I am certain the posts won't be..

That's good to hear. At least I was able to sign up again using the same username as before and ever closer onto the magic 10... ;-)

When you get to 10 posts, RCK (the EAB Administrator) might even be able to merge your new account with the old one(s) if you ask him nicely by PM. |

Only as a reader, well until issue 107 anyway. I do have a little website about it though.

Well, I lost that account as well, but the current one that I resigned up as since then, should be safe now.
