WhdLoad and AGA

Do you play the AGA version of the games if you can or do you stick with non aga version? Just curious

Or is it more retro/nostalgic to play without AGA?

I play AGA versions on my A1200/A4000 and ECS/OCS on my A600/A500

If your Amiga has AGA why not use it

I usually prefer AGA over OCS/ECS if it's available, however I prefer to play the OCS/ECS version of Chaos Engine.

Same goes for Deluxe Pacman, I play the v1.2 on my 500 as that's the one I played to death, also this one saves highscores whereas the WHDLoad ECS and AGA doesn't.

Not sure that's always true though - for instance, the ECS version of Bubble and Squeak is superior to the prettier AGA version due to improved AI of your little blue sidekick. And a lot of people prefer the look of the original Chaos Engine over the AGA one (although I personally like the latter). Likewise, I think the original Zool benefits from the less cluttered backgrounds (not that I am a massive fan of Zool anyway).

Most games are identical gameplay-wise over both versions, sometimes the AGA version will have tangible improvements of course but there are always exceptions
