Wrath of the Demon (CDTV) weird controls

Hullo,

me having a problem again.

My controls in Wrath of the Demon (CDTV) are totally messed up. Firstly, the game is controlled mostly from the mouse port, only punches are thrown with joystick port and mouse button. Secondly, the controls are messed up. Crouch only works with pressing up, i can't move seemless left/right etc.
I tried out all possible input configs, gamepad, joystick, swap ports etc. also tried quicklaunch settings without any changes.

This is the first time i encounter a problem like this. I already tried out another CDTV game (Battlestorm), which is working flawlessly. All other disk/CD32 games i tried work well too.

The disk version of WotD i just tested has also totally normal controls, but i don't want to switch disks all the time...
Anyone has any idea what this could be?

€: ok problem kinda solved, now i just use killergorillas whdload-Version (non CDTV). Thanks for this!

Hi,

I've found the same problem with this version (cdtv) of the game I tried the same as Grouch did with the last stable version of Winuae, but nothing changed. I tried that version because i couldnt find the right way of changing the discs in ADF version. Is this a known bug? Will it be solved in the future? Thanks in advance. Meanwhile I suppose I will have to play that game (I adore it from the nineties) with the whdload version if i can load it in winuae

If I remember correctly, this game only works with CDTV infrared remote control set in mouse mode (dpad moves the mouse). It can't be controlled using joystick or normal mouse.

It reads mouse counters and assumes exact same stable mouse speed as CDTV's pad mouse emulation generates.

WinUAE's CDTV pad emulation may not have exactly right mouse emulation speed yet, which confuses game's stupid control routines..

There is one boring way to find correct mouse speed: Configure mouse as keyboard layout (or map it to physical digital joystick or dpad. Do not use analog sticks), adjust mouse speed setting in WinUAE GUI until game works correctly. Report the mouse speed rating. It is very boring task..

Thanks a lot Toni for the quick response. Very curious the story behind this version of the title I will try to find the right settings following your instructions and, of course, I will post them here for helping others and for the development of WinUae piece of art

I think it would work on a real Amiga CD32 as it goes in CDTV mode.

CDTV games that use this control method have worked on the CD32 with CD32 gamepad in the past.

OK, I will try, but can you tell me how enable this mode on Amiga CD32? I never do this before because I never have had any games for CDTV. Thanks.

Hmm, I don't see any difference while games is load or later. The most important thing is how resolve problem with correct controls. If is even possible...
