So I have to connect the Amiga Paula outputs to the inputs of the Prisma and then the Prisma outputs to my HiFi?
So then it's a pass through just to use the same Audio equipment with just a pair of cables. You should include with the Prisma when it's available for sale a couple of male RCA adapters (for the female RCA Amiga Paula output) to female 3.5 mono jack plus the cable with dual male mono jacks in both sides. This card is an audio stream decoder, not a sound card, so I think it's very unlikely that it will support AHI at all. Would be a million times more useful than decoding MP3s on an Amiga though...

The MAS player uses AHI and it isn't a sound car either. Edit: Sorry, no, I was wrong.
In fact it can also use MHI. Last edited by Retrofan; 23 January 2016 at 19:42. |

it was pointed out for a considerable number of times, that it is not a soundcard but a streaming audio decoder and that advertising it as a sound card is misleading. look up this very thread. i dont even understand why they insist on this, even though it doesnt look like the product is going to be delivered any soon and those, who nevertheless intend to buy it, would probably do, no matter what it is.

http://www.a-eon.com/?page=prisma (At the time of writing: it simply says "product page coming soon".. No reference to the previous press release. The old press release was a PDF and I guess they didn't want to edit it afterwards as it was already spread all over Internet. .. |

As for whether it's a soundcard or not, it may be a little misleading because people equate soundcard with an AHI-compatible output device. However, it does output sound from software sources on the computer so I would definitely consider it a soundcard - just one with a particular purpose (in this case for decoding audio). There have been other cases of this in the past too - plenty of MIDI bank hardware and the likes have been advertised as sound cards, once they have their own audio output ability. Bottom line, all that's needed is to be clear about what *type* of soundcard it is. Personally I've never had any doubts about this, but maybe others less familiar with the terminology might be confused. |

They've told me they are currently working on updated drivers. Zorro seems to be sorted now and clockport driver is now being worked on.
