HTML auto-insert problem with *LONG* URLs
Hi there,
this thing with Fissuras' direct link to the planetemu FTP has really attracted my attention. I did some testing and I know WHY some long links don't work. EAB board software does an auto-insert of HTML line-breaks (tag <br>) into VERY LONG links constructed in a certain manner. A test which shows the problem for me: ftp://user:mypassword@fileserver.net...0TRAINERS].zip [EDIT 1] Bug was fixed in the meantime... don't be surprised if the problem doesn't show with the above link anymore now. You cannot see the source of my post so I have to attach it so that you can see that the URL enclosed in [ u r l ] ... [ / u r l ] statements does NOT contain a HTML line-break! [EDIT 2] There seems to be another problem (marked with a red circle). As you can clearly see (and RCK or moderators when they try to edit my post), there's now a blank (HTMLized it's %20) before the 'My' which is shown if you try to right-click the url using IE and choosing 'Properties'. This blank doesn't appear in the source of the post, so EAB software seems to have added it stealthily Last edited by andreas; 16 August 2002 at 22:11. |

just trying again...
ftp://user:mypassword@fileserver.net...0TRAINERS].zip (first try ok, setting [u r l ] ... [ /u r l ] by hand) Automatically parse URLs OFF. Last edited by andreas; 16 August 2002 at 22:03. |

ftp://user:mypassword@fileserver.net...rite%20Game%20[cr%20THE%20MASTERS][t%20THE%20TRAINERS].zip
(second try FAILED) @everybody: It only works if you set the [ u r l ] ... [ /u r l ] thing by hand. Otherwise it will break the URL. But the URLs are working now. Last edited by andreas; 16 August 2002 at 22:09. |

Yes, why not just edit it? Teehee
You're always the climax of funniness man Well yes, now it works (partly). And at least that stupid <br> tags have disappeared. A significant improvement. Thanks. |
