Trying to remember a Top Down Robot game
Hey there,
Trying to remember the name of a game in which you controlled robots. Can't quite remember if you controlled more than one. The camera view was top down, simple graphics. I'm not sure but you might even have been able to build the robots as well, as I remember there being some kind of creation mode that had a trash can icon. You would walk around from room to room, I think you could fire a weapon too. Any help much appreciated! |

Thanks for the speedy reply, but afraid not. The graphics were much, much simpler than that. I remember alot of white. And blue. And simpler robot models.

Could you build/upgrade the robot in three parts (head/body/feet)? I can't remember the name, but I just remembered that building process with robot parts.

There were possibly puzzle elements as well as shooting. It wasn't an all out shooter, I think.

I have a vivid memory of the trash can similar to a normal Amiga desktop trashcan, where you could delete your creations. |

Nope. The graphics were even plainer than that.
I seem to remember one weapon was a laser that fired from the arm. It may or may not have rebounded off walls. And it was pretty much entirely robot based. No alien stuff. I think. |

Paradroid II http://hol.abime.net/4360
Traders http://hol.abime.net/1493 Has a very nice robot building and combat sequence. Sadly there are no screenshots of the robot parts of the game on HOL. Did you control the Robots with mouse or keyboard? If you controlled them with the mouse then it might have been a very old edition of Total Chaos OCS from the 1980s. Sadly HOL has no screenshots of such old editions. The AGA version is here: http://hol.abime.net/3861 but it looks radically fancier than the old A500 editions. Red Mars http://hol.abime.net/3678 is a game all about building and fighting robots. I assume that those screenshots are taken from running it on a graphics card. If you play on a plain A500 then the graphics are much crappier. |

Nope, wasn't any of those. Or Hackers. And no, it was not Metal Masters!!!! Thanks for helping anyway guys, I'm sure we'll find it! Pretty sure the robots were controlled with keyboard. And I don't recall any outside environments. It was all within rooms in some kind of building complex. |

Hmm, for some reason I am thinking of D/Generation even though you don't control a robot there.

Nope. I don't recall it having such an isometric viewpoint either. I'm not sure how much emphasis should be in the vuilding of robots aspect. I think that part of it was pretty simple.
The robot I vividly remember controlling had arms and legs and a square body. |
