Workbench 1.3 Disks Please help!!
Hello all,
I asked my mum to clear out her loft so I could transfer my old stuff into my loft. What do you know I've got my old A500!! Have been using winuae for a couple of years but seeing the old girl has got me into wanting to use the original hardware again. Drive sounds a bit dodgy when reading a disk but that's ok i'll get another drive, I haven't got a mouse or many disks but thats all good i'll get some stuff off e-bay etc.. However I need a copy of workbench 1.3 (on a amiga disk) and presently don't have any means of transfering it from an .ADF file from my pc. I'm having trouble finding a copy, can anyone find where i can buy or supply me a copy for money, i do own the original but my old dear can't find it! Please help, any suggestions welcome. Sorry if i've broken any rules! didn't mean to! Sure i'll be here alot from now on, thanks for reading. |

Maybe you would be interested in an Amiga OS 2.1 disk set?

How is he going to run 2.1 without the right ROMs
Although if you want to take the opportunity to upgrade, you may as well go the whole hog and get an OS3.1 update with the 3.1 ROMs... |

That's why I said "maybe", my old a500 had the required roms, besides, Vesalia has run out of 3.1's

@PaulCan
If you want to stick with 1.3 I think I may have a spare (genuine) set laying around I could let you have for a small fee Dave G |

Thanks guys for all your help, I'm being sent a set by one of you thanks!
Can you also recommend a setup which play games as well as be an amiga tower i.e for the net etc.. I want one and think that would be cool. I remember from memory that the A500 was solid for games, and if you owned a 1200 for example only a few games would load??? Can you recommend a set up thats happy to do both or is it an idea to keep a A500 for games only and a 1200 etc.. tower for serious?? Ta! |

Simple answer here (though potentially a tad pricey) - get yourself an A1200, a hard drive, a memory expansion or an accelerator and install WHDLoad which pretty much eliminates the compatibility issues. For gamesplaying that's pretty much the best setup, if you want to go further than that then I'm sure there are plenty of people here who will give you some good advice.
