Winuae sound bug?
Hi, i am using Winuae and installed both the new release of AIAB and Amigasys 2.0. I use Picasso96 emulation and, other than crashes if the "cycle exact copper and blitter" option is enabled, i notice another weird bug with sound emulation: for example, if i install games to hard disk, when i run them, i get no sound; but, if when the game has started, I press F12 and then the OK button, then sound begins playing. I tried changing lots of options, but i got no results. Is someone else experiencing this problem?
I run Winuae on WinXP Pro, P4 2.4ghz, DX 9.0c, 512 mb RAM, Geforce 4 and on-board audio. Thanks |

Are you by any chance turning the warp mode on/off without noticing?

No, Winuae is running at 50 fps, speed is correct. I really don't know what could cause this.

Name and model of your mainboard?
Do you see any not so normal looking messages in log? (like "sound status = xxx", "sound system got stuck", "lock failed" etc..) |

I have a Platinix 2 mainboard by QDI. Never gave me problems.
I attached a Winuae log. Thanks |

Do you also lose drive click sounds? Enable from sound-panel, put non-booting disk image in df0:, boot normally, list directory from df0: and listen for drive sounds.

I hear drive clicks during boot up and when a disk is inserted and loads, if no disk is inserted there are no clicks . Very weird...

You probably have system patch that enables no-click. Thats why I asked you to list directory instead of listening for clicks from empty drive

Do you have AHI installed? Maybe your Windows sound driver has problems playing two different directsound streams at the same time..
Does drive clicks and game sounds work properly if you delete devs:ahi/uae.audio and reboot? |

I tried deleting AHI, drive clicks work, but still no sound starting a game...I still have to hit F12 and OK to hear sound coming from a game...anyway, thanks for your kind replies and keep up your outstanding work!
