Sorry to not post anything for quite a few weeks. I was busy developing RESHOOT R and reach my target release date, which is "early 2019". Now end of may is almost there and I am happy to announce that RESHOOT R is almost ready for release: I sent a CD-ROM to the production plant today. Expect release around the 30th of may.

Some behind the scenes of ReshootR

This describes some of the colour palette setup.
https://www.patreon.com/posts/reshoot-behind-27347269

While it is only using 16 colours for foreground/background a few more tricks we have used for some fancy transparency effects among other things. I'll describe more over time of different elements .Hope this is useful info.

Next post on ReshootR will describe the player ship and how it was setup.

Hi guys ! I can tell you the games lives up to its hype. It's WAY better than the first Reshoot in every way.

- way more balanced, less frustrating, can appeal to both beginners and pro players
- way more content (5 levels, many different enemies)
- technically better, better soundtrack (kind of "mode 7" like effects and "Banshee-like" effects)
- some cool original ideas

I'm so glad I supported Richard's patreon Great work !

What is also awesome is Richard considers making use of the HUGE amount of work spent in the game engine in a new game ! If we add up the time spent on Reshoot then Reshoot R, it maybe represents 5 years of hard work on this engine ?

@torturedutopian: Thanks for your kind words!

@kikems: Glad you enjoy the game!

@quantum8: Why not. While the original Reshoot may not be everyones cup of tea and certainly has its flaws, it´s still a fast and entertaining shmup ... if I may say so, as the creator of it :-)

@invent: Thanks for sharing your creative process with the community. Great idea!

@buzzybee : regarding the first Reshoot, have you considered releasing a minor revision with for instance.. Disabled inertia ? Or fixing a few unfair deaths from behind ?
(both issues are gone in Reshoot R

Just asking, I'm pretty sure you don't feel like getting back to the old code -- also, the version on the CDs would still remain the old one :-)

@torturedutopian: Think about that all the time :-) Just kidding. But yes, tweaking the original Reshoot game a little bit, enhancing the collission system and adding a highscore table is certainly on the cards. And if I do, I´ll do it in such a way that it will be on CD-ROM so that A1200, A4000 and CD32-gamers can play.
