@8BitBubsy
you received 26MIPS with this card when tested? - theres somthing Fishy here, via sysinfo this is NOT the speed you should be getting (32 MIPS is what you should get) - under syspeed you should record 65 MIPS a 33Mhz 040 is 24 MIPS where as a 40Mhz 040 is 30 MIPS Theres something very strange going on here. I suspect the poor result you are getting could be down to an old setpatch and drivers of the card. |

@Alexh
as you know my friend, a pump is a pump - but if there is anything delaying / refracting or otherwise interfering then this will hamper performance - most likely cause huge problems with stability - as the oscilator is soldered to the board - its possible its damaged or through opperation just deterorated over time. But from what I know of the history of this card I do doubt that. Personally I think its one of three things - each one needs to be isolated to find the root cause - each of these has been mentioned even by you a few times - I think we need to zip-over to 8bitbubsy place and after giving him a few melvin's we might actually get somewhere with the issues of his 060 @8BitBubsy follow the following - you can sing along as you do =) 1. Software issue so what do we know.... well the card is unstable... why is this???? well lets find out... will the card boot to a disk begging screen (no HDD attached?) - how long before something crashes? --- its not crashing.... good lets give it somthing more to do.. Now lets Boot with NO startup - have we got to CLI without crashing? <yes> ---- give it something meaning full to do like running MIPS program for 10 minutes <No> ----- Hardware error - the route of your problem is not a software issue* crashed during MIPS test? <yes> ---- the route of your problem is not likely to be a software issue - you can test more <no> ----- confirmed software related incompatability - install apollo drivers *assuming that the Hard Disk and media are okay and not error prone Hardware Issue 1 Unfortunately we are at an impass due to the contraints of your card having both the CPU and Oscillator soldered to the board - so testing these will require them to be removed and known working components tested in there place on the card.
